Din Ky 2 - Vietnamese Restaurant

The food is decent but the service is severely lacking. The service was very slow and they were obviously understaffed, even though it wasn't busy. We arrived at the restaurant a little before 7PM but didn't get our food until 8PM. After we were seated, no body came to take our order for 20 minutes until we flagged our waitress down. She was very young, like a highschooler or college student. She was very timid and quiet, did not confirm our orders (luckily we asked her to repeat our order before she left because she got it wrong!), and never checked up on us. When we finally got our order in, it took around 45 minutes for the food to arrive. We thought that our waitress had forgotten to put our orders in but upon inspection, the tables that were there before us were also waiting for a while. I got the Steamed Duck Egg Noodles and my friend got the Charsiu & Shrimp Egg Noodles. The broth is super rich and savory, but it was really salty so I had to drink lots of water. The duck was dry and had no flavor, which prompted me to drink more of the broth and made me more thirsty. Unfortunately, my water never got refilled as we were never checked up on. We also got a side of Youtiao which came last. It was the best thing we had as it was super crispy and perfect if you wanted to eat it by itself or dip it into the broth. The main reason I wanted to try this restaurant was the fried shrimp cake that they give you on the side. I'm not sure why they only gave us one as we ordered 2 bowls of noodles, but luckily my friend did not care much for it. The shrimp on the cake was huge but it was unpeeled and the crispy wonton was hard, as if they had fried a bunch and left it out for a while. I soaked it in my broth which helped soften it but it didn't have any flavor, including the shrimp, so it was overall unpleasant.

I like all their noodles. The broth in these noodles taste good. I will definitely come here again.

Tried the dry noodles and they were so flavorful and perfectly cooked. The sea salt coffee was creamy, smooth, and the salty-sweet balance was amazing. Great service and I’ll definitely be back!

Haven’t had a chance to try the food at Đình Ký 2 yet, but I stopped in for their famous salted coffee (cà phê muối), and it was pretty good! The balance of the creamy salted foam with the strong, robust coffee underneath is spot on. If you prefer a more intense coffee flavor with that classic bitter edge (not too sweetened), this is perfect. It’s a unique Vietnamese specialty that’s refreshing and addictive. Service was quick and friendly too. Definitely planning to come back to try more from the menu!

I bought 2 noodles Trieu Chau special. Everything was good until The shrimp is not cooked done.
