East West Hair

I had a good haircut here, but unfortunately my experience with the wavy perm wasn’t great. After about three weeks, my hair still feels noticeably frizzy and damaged, which hasn’t been my experience at Korean or Japanese salons where I’ve gotten similar perms.

I have gotten my hair cut in Japan before, and I have always felt that Japanese stylists have a unique skill in cutting Asian hair. I am so happy to find this hidden gem in Costa Mesa and to have Yoshiko as my stylist :) She is professional, precise, and with an eye for detail that makes the cut look effortless yet perfectly styled. Yoshiko really understands how to shape and layer Asian hair so it looks natural and easy to manage. The salon itself is warm and chic. I highly recommend Yoshiko to anyone looking for an exceptional haircut experience! (Book ahead of time online or by phone as their schedule can get busy - appointments preferred)

This is my first time getting my hair cut here, I was looking for a short layers/wolfcut-ish type of cut, and Ikuo-san gave me exactly what I wanted based off my reference photos. Very friendly and quick service! I can tell they put lots of thought into their work here. Thank you again, will be back soon!

East West Hair is a Japanese hair salon in the same shopping plaza as Mitsuwa. The service was excellent. They asked what kind of haircut I wanted and asked clarifying questions to understand what I wanted. I had asked for the same haircut at two other salons previously, but the other salons weren’t really able to deliver. I was so happy that East West Hair was able to cut my hair exactly how I wanted. The cut was done using scissors mostly with minimal use of clippers. I have gotten so many compliments on my new haircut. The price was very reasonable, $65 plus 20% tip. I definitely would come back again if I’m in the area.

Followed Yoshiko here because she does such an excellent job cutting hair! Even when hair is short she knows how to create texture and layers so that it will grow out well I also have to recommend the Milbon treatment— your hair will feel so luxuriously healthy after plus you just feel the stress melt away as she massages your scalp! I highly recommend her services to anyone! You can follow her on social medial to get a sense of the varied hair styles she can achieve in both men and women. Inspired to eventually growing out my hair to get a digital perm someday, will update here one I do!
