I’ve never met someone so rude in my entire life. I was caught off guard so bad, I assumed the wider guy was playing around and was asking me for “rent” I initially called to see if I could have them test a piece of gold that i was buying from another person. They said yes - I also asked if there a fee I need to pay and the lady on the phone was nice. She told me no fee, when I arrive in person, I wanted to get a test - the guy at the desk says it’ll be five dollars which I have no problem paying, I still paid even though they said it was free, not a problem to me. Once we got tested, and I was ready to buy it from the seller, then a wider taller guy came out and started asking me for rent… I assumed he was playing, but he was in fact, not playing after repeating that he needs his rent five times and I asked him if he was playing or being serious. He said he was dead serious. I explained to him that I just paid the fee and he said he still needs $25 for me to stand in his store… I was kind as I am to everyone. This guy is the rudest guy I’ve ever met in my life - I am also a business owner and I could never treat anyone like that, just be a human being… I paid your fee and you still tried to charge me $25 just to stand in your store for 30 seconds truly don’t understand how you are in business. *Updated to respond to the owner** The owner responded to the review with his explanation which is fine. However, the issue is how he handled it in person. He came out of nowhere - he wasn't even there when we initially got it tested. He came out super aggressive and starts aggressively asking us where his rent is multiple times. That's not how you go about doing your business bro. Maybe try speaking to people with at least an ounce of respect. Look at the other reviews about you and how they describe you. You run a business, you represent your business. If someone in my line of business does something I'm not happy with, I get that point across in a professional manner. Im not even mad, it's just disappointing. You could've gone about it in a professional way and there would've been no issue - we would respect your policy and leave and handle things outside.

Worse pawn shop ever. Drove far to pawn some jewelry today, just to find out their system was down. Not only down , but down for hours. If you can’t service the community then they should just close.

What an awesome experience everytime I visit this business. I'm an avid and dedicated customer who has done business with them for years. I look forward to seeing the entire team, especially Tony , the business manager. This review doesn't give them a real in depth review. Hayward should be happy to have such an amazing business within there city. Keep up the good work, Mr. & Mrs. Lewis, of Castro Valley.

Every time I’ve visited this location the staff has always been respectful and polite. They have always worked with me when ever I needed help financially. Highly recommended if you are in the East bay. Thank you Tony for always being professional and helpful.

They don’t respect their operating hours. It shows on the their page close at 5:30 and I pulled up at 520. Having 10 mins BEFORE closing. I was walking away and all 3 men were just staring instead of helping. That’s rude.
