⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 Stars My sister and I visited First Impression Salon & Spa for haircuts, and we had an amazing experience with John. From the moment we sat in his chair, he was welcoming, friendly, kind, and funny, which made the whole appointment enjoyable. John took the time to listen carefully to what we wanted instead of rushing through the consultation. He understood exactly what we were looking for and gave us both haircuts that matched our expectations perfectly. It’s not always easy to find a stylist who truly listens, but John did. What impressed us the most was his knowledge and professionalism. He looked at our hair types and recommended shampoos and hair care products that would work best for us. He explained everything clearly and gave us helpful tips for maintaining healthy hair. The salon was clean, comfortable, and professional, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. We both left feeling confident and happy with our haircuts. If you’re looking for a stylist who is talented, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about his clients, I highly recommend John. 10/10 experience. We will definitely be returning and recommending him to friends and family!

First time at this salon and meeting John. I came to him to fix my hair, which was over highlighted by another stylist. He did a great job!! He listened to me and my concerns and was able to offset my previous highlights w/ lowlights. The result was beautiful! My only regret is that I didn't come here first. The salon is spacious, inviting, and clean. It's like going over to a friend's house to get your hair done. :-) I highly recommend John for all your hair needs.

Absolutely amazing results! I was desperate for help fixing my botched hair. I had called nearly every salon in San Antonio trying to get anyone to help me. After hours of people telling me they wouldn’t be able to fix my hair because it was too short, I almost gave up hope until John picked up the phone. He agreed to do a consultation same day and immediately had a plan. That same afternoon he made me a whole new person! I can actually show my face in public and be proud of my hair. He color corrected and installed extensions but made sure to check my hair and scalp health first. He is friendly, real, and extremely funny. He is the only person I will trust with my hair from now on!

He has such a warm, personable energy that the entire appointment felt fun and relaxing instead of stressful or rushed. The best part? He somehow knew exactly what I was trying to ask for…even when I didn’t fully know how to explain it myself. And he was able to make recommendations that stayed within my budget! That level of experience and attentiveness is rare. I have a lot of gray that I’m just not ready to embrace yet, and John blended and colored it better than any stylist I’ve ever been to. The color turned out absolutely beautiful, natural, and flattering, and I honestly could not be happier with the results. What also stood out to me was his professionalism and responsiveness. Other salons either sent me straight to voicemail, made me text and wait days for a reply, or were booked out for months. I called John, and while I didn’t get through immediately, he personally called me back within minutes and got me scheduled the very same week — on a Saturday no less, which everyone knows is one of the busiest salon days. I had explained that I was going out of town and needed a cut and color quickly, and he truly went above and beyond to make it happen. I actually live much closer to several other salons, but after this experience, I’m more than happy to make the drive to see him. Great prices, amazing color work, attentive service, and an overall genuinely enjoyable experience. I left feeling refreshed, confident, and excited to come back. Can’t wait to book with him again!

After years of trying to find a great hair stylist, I found one I can trust!! I am so happy to have chosen John @ First Impressions, not only did he listen to me and what I wanted done to my hair, and got it, but went over and above what I expected. I highly recommend him and his services. He absolutely surpassed my expectations! He is extremely experienced in matters of hair and styling but he is that and much more. I'm 100% satisfied and his prices are very reasonable, I will trust him with my hair care and styling from now on, worth every $1. Thank you John!!!
