Fringe Hair Salon

Fringe is truly one of the best hair salons in Seattle! Super close to Green Lake and has such a welcoming atmosphere. The stylists are highly experienced, friendly, and really take the time to listen during the consultation. I’ve kinda done it all!… solid all over hair color, then went balayage, to blonde highlights, and now I’m grey blending, so I don’t need that root touch-up anymore! Oh, I’ve even had keratin smoothing treatments here! They are especially skilled at creating natural blondes, and bob haircuts. And I’m really enjoying my new grey blending, no more monthly maintenance! I even have my husband coming here for his men’s cut, a clipper fade now, he sees Jenna or Chloe usually. The salon is clean! And booking online is easy, and everyone makes you feel comfortable without being pushy. I also love that Fringe is an employee-based, locally owned Seattle salon with different stylists and price points to choose from.

I asked for a color and partial balayage with Bella. I was given a partial foil and partial color. 7-8 foils with no face framing instead the of industry standard which is anywhere from 15-30. First photo: Detailed closeup of my results I sent at 4:45 the next morning with a text about my concerns. At 7:01 a few hours later, Salon responded obviously knowing it wasn’t done correctly saying they would do a “fix up” Second photo: The photo Jazmine (the owner) who was supposed to fix my hair took when I went in a few days later. As you can see Bella didn’t run the base color all the way down to the bottom of my hair and the bleach at the top didn’t go all the way down. The few highlights there were didn’t match the existing blonde. The 2 random foils from the 1st photo that looked like they were pulled through a home highlight cap from the 1970s are in the back of my head. I was told by Jazmine “it doesn’t look that bad, it looked way worse in the close up picture you sent.””Then proceeded to gaslight me into thinking it looked “ok”. When I suggested that there needed to be face framing highlights she said “I know that’s what’s in the reference pictures but you don’t really see people around with hair like that.” I guess referring to the balayage photos I’d sent before my appointment. “Do you really think you need that? I mean I think it looks ok the way it is.” Then telling me that “when you hair is curly it won’t be noticeable at all”. I also pointed out the disconnect between the top and the bottom because she didn’t cover the old base color (you can see the line of demarcation in the photo.) Her response was, “oh, no one’s hair matches on the bottom when they get it colored.” her tone implied that I was an idiot for questioning that. She asked “What is it you would like me to do?” I would hope at a professional salon they would hold themselves to a higher standard than “ok” or “not that bad” It was very clear she had no interest in correcting the issues so I got up without out saying anything and quietly walked out. I think the pictures speak for themselves. If Jazmine thought nothing needed to be done then clearly she didn’t care about how I felt or how my hair color was representing Fringe Hair Salon. That’s why I’m posting it on here. Here’s my review: I got my hair done at Fringe salon by Jr stylist Bella (who was trained in-house not at a beauty school) and came out with hair that looks “not as bad” as Jazmine thought. Note for Jazmine: This is a learning experience for you and Bella to grow from. Don’t blame the client for Bella’s results. Please don’t try to justify anything. We both know what you said to me. I made it clear by walking out that I was uncomfortable with you belittling my concerns and asking me how you should fix it. You are the colorist not me. You knew what I asked for. You knew it needed to be fixed. I asked for a consultation prior to my appointment. I was told that I did a good job explaining what I wanted on my forms. If there was a concern about being able to create something similar to the reference photos I sent it should have been addressed but it wasn’t. Not by you or by Bella. I understand if you can’t resist replying, it’s your job to defend the salon and rewrite what happened.

I love Fringe and I am never disappointed when I come here for a color with Bella! I have full trust in her to give me what i’m looking for and feel confident when we try something new with my hair. She is professional, provides comfort, cares about your hair health, and knows how to make you feel your best self. The salon is beautiful, attentive, and uses the best quality products. I could not recommend it more! Always a 10/10 experience and can’t wait for my next visit.

I've been going to Fringe for I think close to 2 years, maybe a little more, but realized I never left a review. I went to Fringe on the hunt for someone to deliver results that matched the reference photo I provided. Jazmine and her team meet my expectations each time! Overall experience: The salon itself is inviting, clean, and bright with all of the big windows. They play music, but I appreciate that it's not especially loud. You're able to chat and enjoy the time with the colorist/stylist doing your hair. The scheduling team is also really amazing to work with and I often have to go back-and-forth with them via text trying to iron out times that will work with my schedule and they are so helpful in trying to work around my schedule. Colorist: Jazmine has dyed my hair several times now and each time I love it. I had terrible luck at other salons before just wanting them to match the reference photo I showed and Jazmine nailed it the first time I went. Since then, I have been hooked. The consistency and outcome of her work is what I appreciate the most about my experience with Jazmine. She also is just very enjoyable and fun to chat with during the appointment. Rebecca often finishes up my service and always leaves me smiling- they both do! I'm always so happy with my color and how my hair looks. Stylists: I've been seen by a few different stylists at Fringe just based on whose availbility matches when I'm trying to schedule a haircut. Shylo cut my hair today, but Jenna, and Sevim also have too. Each stylist has always given my thoughtful advice on how to cut and style my hair. And more importantly, I've loved the haircut I've gotten each time.

Shout out to Bella for always going above and beyond, no matter what new hair color I’m looking to try out. I recently asked for a bright orange base color with chunky highlights and she absolutely killed it!
