Love it here. I’ve been coming here for about 9 years. And I don’t trust any other place. Great service, friendly staff. And they’ll be honest about the type of color so you hair doesn’t get damage.

I don't even know where to begin to explain how much I REGRET coming to Genesis. Three days ago, I was looking to get a trim, color, and a touch up on my undercut. I had long, thick, naturally wavy hair. I left with a choppy, outdated, mullet-like hairstyle from Nery. When it came time to touch up the undercut, she shaved off more of my long hair and changed the shape completely. I reluctantly paid the 95 dollars plus a tip to the hairdresser. I texted Michael, the owner, the very next day to explain how displeased I was. He set up an appointment with the other owner, Alex to fix the cut. She was able to blend the layers a little, but looking in the mirror as she was trimming, I felt like crying! I lost about half of the length and thickness! During the appointment, I also learned the Nery only holds her cosmetology APPRENTICESHIP license, which means she is technically a STUDENT. Michael, please let your clients know that she is an apprentice. I don't think it's fair to charge without any sort of discount-- especially since she was the only one working on me, no lead technician or any other professional! Not to mention, she speaks very little English, so there was no checking in during the hair cut except for the in the beginning, when Michael had to translate. Yes, hair grows back, but I wasn't ready for this traumatic experience! After originally posting this review, Michael harassed me through text to remove my review if I wanted a refund.

How wonderful, I walked in after being referred by a local business that was unable to meet my needs. I had no appointment and I said I could wait or even come back because I was close by. They were very accommodating and offered me water and chips, it was very easy to wait in such a pleasant environment, I think it was less than 20 minutes. I saw Nevy she did a great job cutting and styling my hair, she made me feel and look so much better. Michael at the desk was very friendly and I plan on returning to the salon to have Nevy cut my hair on a regular basis. I am very pleased. My personal experience was service with a smile at a great price.

I had to update my review the first time I went the lady was a bit rude I ignored her attitude. I went back months later and made sure I didn't get my cut from her again I got a cut from fabi and I loved it she was nice talked to me the whole time and gave me advice about my hair. I told my mom about this place, she went in and the owner I believe his name is Michael was rude to her (we know it was the owner who was rude because told us on the phone who he was). Despite him being rude she went in again recently and he was rude again. The same lady who cut my hair the first time was there and was rude to my mom as well. I wouldn't recommend going here they aren't welcoming and make it well known that they don't care. Never going back.

Wanted to try a new hair salon cause of problems with my last one, so I gave them a try. The people were nice, and the atmosphere was nice as well; however, I explained that I have been trying to grow my hair out for years, and asked them to take off an inch just to rid my hair of split ends, but they ended up taking off way more than they said they would. My hair used to be down to my lower back, but now it's up to just above mid back. Won't be coming back, but at least I tried!
