Great Clips

The stylist who cut my hair during my visit on July 20 around 3:30 PM was unprofessional. Very disappointing experience. From the moment I walked into the salon, the stylist appeared unhappy and uninterested in helping customers. Throughout the haircut, she seemed like she didn’t want to be there and rushed through the service instead of taking the time to do a proper job. Her communication was unprofessional, and she came across as unfriendly and dismissive. I left feeling that my concerns and preferences were not respected. If a stylist is having a bad day or isn’t able to provide good customer service, it’s better for another stylist to assist the customer rather than providing a poor experience. I also felt that I was treated differently in a way that made me uncomfortable. Whether intentional or not, the interaction left me feeling unwelcome and disrespected. I hope the management takes customer service and professionalism more seriously so that others don’t have a similar experience.

I went in for a simple trim, taking about an inch off, no layers. And I left with one side of my head being longer than the other, even after I pointed out multiple times that it was uneven. The stylist (if you can call her that), pulled a section of my hair back and said just look at the front, the back doesnt matter, it's the front that should be even. After she did that I said, yeh and one side of my head is touching my shoulder and the other is not. When I got home my husband was mortified. I decided to go to another great clips *red oak* and the manager did an incredible job fixing the cut. She was also mortified at how choppy and uneven it was. I even had to have a little more cut off than I originally wanted just to even and blend it out. I definitely wont be back to this location and hopefully they can find some stylists that wont bully a customer into an awful haircut.

Howie gave me one of the best haircuts I have ever gotten in my entire life, I swear on my soul! He was quick, but dexterous. Very friendly and nice as well. He makes sure you’re going to like your style and is an expert in his field. Very happy about his work.

I needed the back of my pixie tapered a little more so I went to Great Clips as a walk in (yes the reviews on black women going to Great Clips gave me courage). Well Debra at the Carrier & I20 location did not disappoint (p.s. she’s off on Wednesdays and Sundays). Great service, taper just as I wanted it, and she was super sweet. She’ll be seeing me again!

This hair salon has been my go-to for the last 20+ years. However, the service has gone from very good to very bad as most of the good stylists have left for unknown reasons. The ones who remain try to race against the clock to give you a haircut, even when no other customers are waiting for any of the stylists. A haircut that costs $22 or $20 with the card but takes less than three minutes is neither a good value nor of high quality.
