Easy parking, friendly service, reasonable prices, and overall yummy food. We were helped to order via tablet. The spicy corn was very good, though not really worth $12. The tantan mian can be made vegeterian, and it was delicious. The portion was a bit small for the price, but it was worth the $15. The spicy dry chicken is like chong ching chicken, and it was fantastic. Not too greasy, perfectly seasoned, nice and crispy, and huge portions. It had a little bit of a powdery texture, but overall great deal. The pork open mouth bread thing was really dry for the meat, but they let me return it and canceled the order. Overall, I'd definitely come back to try one of their combo meals!!!
Haochi is always a favorite for us to go. Anything that is “by China Mama” never disappoints. Our fave order is crispy beef, crispy eggplant, any (or ALL) of the fried rice options, and scallion pancakes. Believe me, it never misses. The pho and braised beef combo is also worth trying, and is usually way too big so I end up taking leftovers or sharing with my partner. On top of that, service and atmosphere is top notch. It’s clean, and all the workers are super nice and helpful.
For a Chinese restaurant, I like the clean, bright interior. The service was attentive, but then again, we were the only ones there at 11:30am on a Wednesday. However, I was somewhat disappointed with the food. The pan fried buns weren’t buns but they used the same dough as the potstickers. buns are usually fluffy like bread and pan fried. Yank Sing in SF does a delicious job of pan fried buns. Sadly, this place doesn’t even know what buns are. The ma po tofu was ok. Usually a bit more flavor but this time it was mostly oil and served in a shallow dish, it’s almost impossible to get the savory sauce. As for the beef bone noodle soup- I fell for the marketing buzz. It looks impressive for $28 on Wednesday and $38 on other days. It’s a huge bowl but mostly for looks. There isn’t much meat on the bones because these are huge thigh and shank bones. It’s mostly stragglers so it’s cartilage and meat most of us in the U.S. probably won’t think of as edible. For that price I’d get pho (Vietnamese) or galbi tang (Korean rib soup) elsewhere. Complete waste of money.
The restaurant is very clean and well maintained. The customer service is excellent—staff are friendly, attentive, and make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. They offer a wide variety of food selections, so there’s something for …
Edit: they seemed to take the pho off of the actual menu. The last time the lady said you can still order it it's basically on a secret menu. I came back this next time and it was not on the menu so I asked if I can order it. It came out pretty watery no flavor and no bubbles. Tasted like instant pho. Something changed. ( edit. Came here again even after this and called ahead since it was showing basically on the menu. Order the Vietnamese beef soup it finally came out the same of watery and overly salty did not have pho flavor. I also had to request for hosin and sriracha sauce from the guy and he looked confused. I also had to ask for bean sprouts and Thai basil.) The essentials for this soup and if a person tries pho for the first time here they would not like it My Go-To Pho Spot in Vegas – But Some Dishes Miss the Mark They use the tablet style of ordering so prices change all the time as well as menu items. I came in to get my normal bowl of pho but it was not on the menu. I was also up for trying one of their braised beef soup which I probably would not order again. I only knocked this review down to four stars because they did not have pho on the menu when I came in and that's my favorite thing on their menu. I asked when I was leaving what happened to it and they said that it's on their secret menu. They also had a barcode scanner and advertisement on the table prompting to download some Chinese app that prompted a warning to get a free item discount. After downloading and setting up the lady told me it's for online orders through that app only. Kind of a bait and switch advertisement I’ve been here several times now, and the combination pho continues to be absolutely fantastic—huge portions of well-cooked, high-quality meat in a flavorful, rich broth. It’s honestly become my favorite pho in Vegas. The dining area is modern and very clean, which adds to the appeal. You order through a tablet or your phone, which can be a bit tricky at first—especially if you’re just looking for a simple bowl of pho. But once you figure it out, it works fine. They also offer a range of Chinese dishes, which I believe are from their China Mama menu. While the pho is consistently excellent, some of the other dishes were hit-or-miss. The shrimp egg rolls and crispy beef were great, but we didn’t enjoy the chow mein, salt and pepper chicken (tasted a bit stale), or the potato beef bao buns (lacked flavor). One odd moment during a visit—I saw a couple of chefs sitting outside in the back in the heat, likely on a break. It just seemed strange given how hot it was. On another visit, the food was still top-notch, but the service slipped a bit. My server didn’t seem to speak much English and brought out a fork and ladle for my pho. I had to specifically ask for hoisin, sriracha, basil, and lime—which are pretty essential for pho. If it’s your first time trying it, you might not know to ask. Despite the uneven service and a few misses on the Chinese side of the menu, I still highly recommend this spot—especially for the pho. Just stick to what they do best.
