never have I been so disrespected during a hair appointment. I booked an hour and a half blowout with hot tools because I believed that it was possible (and it is I get my hair done regularly in new jersey pin straight in under an hour and a half). I get I have a hard hair texture (curly hair not coils) but if you don’t believe you can give me an acceptable blowout then say so. don’t play in my hair for 2 hours and let me walk out like this visibly unhappy and unapologetic. I said I graduate tomorrow and they thought this was ok for me to look like. it’s not like my hair stylist was bad i bet she does other great things but, absolutely did not like the management and the fact that they are proud of this work. it’s just sad to see that this is acceptable nowadays in the hair community.

Honeycomb has quickly become my go-to salon in the city, in large part to the amazingly talented and personable staff. Meg gave me my favorite haircut i’ve ever had and even weeks later I’m STILL getting compliments on it. James’ mastery and creativity with color is matched only by his friendly nature, he totally makes it feel like getting your hair done by someone you’ve known way longer than 2 hours!! He took my vision and collaborated to give me something that I both saw myself in and never could’ve come up with on my own, he’s the best!!

Rebekah is who I trust to give me the edgy, bold haircuts and color Im looking for! I'm quite lazy when it comes to styling my hair and she gave me a cut that is so easy to do the least but it ends up looking so good! Recently she took my long, level 2 nearly black hair to a perfect blonde in only 5 hours. So grateful to have found her, she's truly a hair artist 💗

James is a skilled hair scientist and true artist. I came in wanting to go bronde, and because of my history with henna, he thoughtfully approached the process with patience and a long-term plan instead of rushing it. I’m so grateful he did. The result is beautiful caramel highlights over my dark brown base, which had some brassiness from the henna, and everything looks so natural and dimensional. He also blended my roots slightly lighter to soften the incoming gray, which was such a smart and flattering choice. What impressed me most was the care he took with the integrity of my hair — strand testing, careful color mixing, and really thoughtful planning every step of the way. You can tell he deeply understands hair chemistry. And the cut is perfect too; he knew exactly where to trim to give my fine hair shape and movement without taking too much off. I’m so grateful for James’ talent, artistry, and attention to detail. The results are beautiful, and I feel completely confident in the journey to my final bronde goal.

As I just moved to SF, I needed to find a new salon. I came across James at Honeycomb Salon and decided to book with him. Definitely one of the best haircuts Ive received! I could tell James really took his time to make sure everything was perfect, and he was also super fun to chat with :)
