Hu Tieu My Tho Restaurant

I ordered the 10. Bún bò Huế (Hue's style spicy beef noodle soup w/ pork feet, lemon grass, and pork blood). The Bún bò Huế was bland, and not spicy at all. I added the chili oil they provided, and still wasn't spicy unfortunately. What made it enjoyable for me, was requesting extra lime to add it in the broth. I rate the Bún bò Huế a 2 star. My wife ordered the 21. Cháo Cá (Fish Rice Porridge) w/ 29. Cháo Quẩy (Fried Bread Stick). It came out steaming hot and the ginger was a nice touch. The Fried Bread Stick was fresh and the dough was pillowy. It tasted delicious after soaking up some of the rice porridge. She rates her dish a 5 star. Overall experience, I rate this place a 3 star. Service was a bit slow. We would have to flag someone or go up and request something. The staff members were friendly. Dine in experience was nice. It wasn't packed.

I was so hyped to try this place after reading all the positive reviews, but it was underwhelming. Since hu tieu (noodles) is their specialty, I had to try the dry version of hu tieu My Tho. Pros: 1) Chill and quiet atmosphere. 2) Wide variety of food options besides noodles 3) Plenty of parking available. 4) Noodles come with plenty of shrimp, squid, and liver. Cons: 1) The sauces used were so bland that I had to sprinkle some fish sauce and vinegar on my noodles. 2) The service was lacking. I had to flag down a server to retrieve a missing order for someone in my party. Turns out it was sitting in their microwave the whole time. Overall, I’ve had better and worse noodles before.

My friend recommended me to come here for their famous dish- Hu Tieu My Tho. When I walked inside the restaurant, a wave of nostalgia swept over me when I saw the owner was wearing Ao Ba Ba, a traditional Southern Vietnamese garment welcomed customers. Hu Tieu is a Vietnamese popular breakfast noodle dish in Southern Vietnam and can be served as a soup or dry. But, if you don’t like Hu Tieu, they also have Pho, Rice porridge , Rice plate, vermicelli; you name it, they got it. Also a long list of appetizers and beverages. We ordered a bowl of Hu tieu Ca (Rice noodles Fish soup), Hu Tieu My Tho (clear noodles, dry version, served along side with hot bowl of savory pork broth),egg rolls and grilled pork. Imo, they serve authentic and comforting Hu Tieu bowls. I really loved the toppings - pork, pork liver and seafood was cooked perfectly, and broth was very tasty. I liked to add pickle garlic and jalapeños to give it a kick.Our orders came out within 5-10 minutes. Keep in mind they will charge a fee if you pay by card. Service was friendly. I”ll definitely come back next time visiting Dallas.

After seeing so many recommendations from Vietnamese local fb groups for years, I finally gave it a try with my family. I got hu tieu my kho- dry noodles- and my husband got a wonton noodles soup. Both of our meals were so bland and tasteless. I even added their vinegar and soy sauce inside my bowl for more flavors but they didn't help. I have been trying lots of hu tieu places in the USA and this is one of the worst. Seriously, and my experience even more worst after I ordered 1 bun mam fermented noodle soup home. I didn't eat right away but I left it in the fridge right away I got home. When I reheated it, all of the the noodles and the topping were rotten badly. The only thing was okay to eat was the broth but the broth was so dark brown, and they even added pork blood in there. I have eaten bun mam for all my life and this was the 1st time I saw pork blood in bun mam. I was very skeptical to try it. Its my first experience here.

If you’re craving authentic Vietnamese cuisine in the DFW area, this is the spot! 🤩 I’ve been coming here for years, and it has never disappointed me. The service is warm and friendly, and the menu offers a great variety of dishes. I highly recommend their signature Hu Tieu My Tho and Canh Chua Ca Kho To, always top-notch!
