Lam's Seafood Asian Market

We come here all the time for groceries. This time it was their one year anniversary. The employees here are very friendly and helpful. They had free samples of snail and chili sauce which I had to grab since it was soo good. They have a great selection of fresh seafood and produce. Coming here feels like I'm back at a supermarket in Asia. Their prices are very reasonable and unbeatable compared to other asian stores. I used to shop more at Seafood city but the prices there have gone way up and the inventory is lacking. I'm so glad this place exists!

Lam’s Seafood is often considered one of the better Vietnamese grocery stores in the area, and I can understand why. They carry a large variety of fresh produce, vegetables, seafood, and prepared foods, and many of my visits over the years have been positive. I also appreciate that when problems were brought to their attention, some employees were professional and willing to help resolve the issue. However, I have experienced several disappointing food quality concerns over time. On one visit, I requested live spotted shrimp, but after getting home I discovered several dead shrimp in the bag, some already turning pale white. I also purchased live blue crabs that had a strong sewage-like odor, and after cooking them the meat became mushy and smelled even worse. Another time, the summer rolls appeared spoiled before lunchtime, and I was disappointed that fish sauce was unavailable for the shrimp rolls. I also had issues with fresh durian and ripe mangoes that were already spoiled shortly after purchase. One of the worst experiences involved blood clams that were handed to me from the back near closing time. After bringing them home and starting to cook them, we immediately noticed a very strong rotten odor, and nearly all of them had gone bad. Thankfully, a Vietnamese employee later issued a refund after I returned the leftovers. Since then, I’ve learned it is safer to only buy live seafood when I can personally see it alive before purchase. I still appreciate the store’s large seafood selection, but quality control seems inconsistent at times, especially with discounted seafood items.

Really great prices. $11 per pound for Dungeness crab, even though it's missing a leg, is an exceptional deal. Their produce and meat were reasonably priced. Good selection of spices, and the store overall was clean.

They have good selection of produce and meat. And fresh tropical fruits. I just wish they have the baskets with wheels like at Asian Family market

On Sunday July 12, 2026 at about 2pm, my wife and I decided to pick up 7 items from Lum Seafood Market located in Tukwila, WA. We were in line at the quick check-out counter next to the manager’s office when we were told by the check-out staff that we had to purchase a Lum Seafood Market tote bag if we had more than 5 teams. I told the Lum Seafood Market Staff that since items are small, my wife and I will carry them to our car. Unfortunately the Lum Seafood Market staff insisted that its company policy and we had to purchase the tote bag. I suggest Lum Seafood Market senior management review and reconsider this requirement. No supermarket in Washington State that I have done business with requires their customer to purchase this tote bag if the customer chooses to carry their purchase when practical. In short, Lum Seafood Market cannot force upon their customers to purchase their tote bag, if their customer wishes to carry the items themselves. Your review and reconsideration are appreciated.
