Locafella Loc Studio

My hair came out great the service was great , it’s hard to find shops that still do wash and dry that don’t cost and arm and a leg. I have an altercation with one of the a loctition or however you spell it named Taylor. Apparently we had beef and she was mad that I was there and instead of keeping it professional she came and sat next to me and was picking on me while I was still getting my hair done. Thank you Drea and Paige for having my back and asking her to leave so that my services could stop being interrupted. Other than that I love this shop and there’s my review 😘

4/21 was my first time at Locafella. The salon has a great vibe and is clean when you walk in. A different stylist greeted me and was nice and welcoming. She started my wash for me and asked me a few questions as well. I feel like it could have been a little longer. I get dandruff pretty fast & a little bit of dermatitis so I do like a very thorough wash. I had my appt with Icey. I saw great reviews & was excited because my birthday is in a few days. My appt was at 12pm I arrived 10 minutes early & she didn’t show up until 12:48pm. I was told she’d be late from the stylist that washed my hair. I would have appreciated getting notified before my appointment. She said sorry quickly when she walked in then immediately started my hair without saying anything else basically the entire time. She’s fast but it kind of hurt ngl. It had been awhile since my last retwist but I’ve done that before & it didn’t hurt this much. She didn’t ask about my hair history since it was my first time there but she didn’t talk to me unless it was to go to the dryer and when she finished. I’m not a big talker & don’t expect long conversations but I think getting to know a new customer & asking a few questions is pretty important. The retwist came out pretty good. Parts were nice but the loose hair on some locs could have been wrapped a little better. I’ll have to think about if I want to try this place again because I’m not sure.

The last time I was in this place (2021) the service was terrible. However I ended up needing to go here again for a last minute hookup for a wedding I was in. I must say, I was highly impressed. The service was excellent. I booked Talisa for my appointment and she did an amazing job! I loved that she did super early appointments. She was super friendly and welcoming and she understood the assignment. She really did that on my hair! I live in Texas, but I definitely told her I will be booking her again my next trip I take to Cali. Thank you again so much Talisa! You did an excellent job on my hair. Y’all go book her asap!

I got my locs re-tied and retwisted. The work is really good, but there is a lack of professionalism and it's just not for me. Loud music and way too much happening; I prefer a spa-like experience like my last loctician, who moved out of California. I went to Drea, whose work is good, but the whole time, she's on the phone, doing other things, sometimes eating. The last time, she didn't dry me all the way and the locs unraveled, so she told me what product to buy so I could fix it. Again, good work mostly, but it's not the environment for me. I'm a grown woman, not a kid or college student. I require a certain level of professionalism. But all in all, good work. You just have to decide if the environment fits your sensibilities.
