I recently needed major repair work involving 4 teeth. Dr. Dharia and her assistant did an amazing job keeping me comfortable, working so efficiently and with excellent attention to detail. Considering the extensive work done, I had almost no discomfort after surgery.

I wish I had taken the time to read the lower-rated reviews before choosing this clinic, as they sadly reflect the reality of my own experience. My interactions with Dr. Dharia resulted in tremendous stress and anxiety for me, and I am sharing my story to help prevent others from facing similar difficulties. I was told I needed six fillings. During one appointment, Dr. Dharia started working on four of them. About an hour into the procedure—while I was numb, uncomfortable, and unable to think clearly—I was suddenly told after drilling that two of the cavities were “too deep” for a normal filling. I was then presented with new paperwork and told I needed a porcelain restoration instead, costing me nearly $2,000 extra out of pocket. Being mid procedure, in pain, and under anesthesia is not a moment where anyone should be pressured to make a major financial or medical decision. I felt trapped. I trusted her as a medical professional, and honestly, the whole situation was horrifying. When I got home, that anxious feeling only grew. I showed the photos and X rays to dentists in my family who told me that what I was pushed into paying thousands for looked like an ordinary, everyday filling. I later got a second opinion for the remaining two cavities, and the new dentist confirmed that they did not require porcelain work contrary to Dr. Dharia’s assessment. While sitting in the clinic, I repeatedly heard similar comments to multiple patients— “the filling is very deep,” “you might need a crown,” “there’s barely any tooth left.” After my experience, it felt like a pattern of pushing high-cost treatments and not an honest medical assessment. For anyone considering this clinic, please look up any dentist’s licensing and disciplinary history on the official DCA (Department of Consumer Affairs). I learned information about Dr. Dharia’s past after my appointment that I genuinely wish I had known beforehand. You can search for her name directly and review the public records yourself. This entire experience left me anxious, overwhelmed, and feeling taken advantage of. I trusted a dentist with my health, and instead walked away with fear, confusion, and a huge bill. I’ve since moved home and found a new dentist who has been transparent, kind, and honest—everything I desperately needed during this ordeal. For your peace of mind, your teeth, and your wallet, I strongly recommend seeking care elsewhere!

I would avoid this clinic. My experience is similar to others who were pressured into unnecessary dental intervention. In my case, Dr. Dharia recommended I get a crown urgently or else deal with a root canal in the near future. The procedure and aftermath was incredibly painful, and the staff were cold and unhelpful. I emailed in after a week when the pain had worsened, not improved, and they told me to go see a root canal specialist if I was worried. The crown, which was supposed to last 10-15 years, fell out after 1.5 years. I’ve since had other dentists look at the images and share that they did not see enough in the x-rays from Dr. Dharia’s office to have warranted that level of intervention. It was an expensive, painful experience made worse by the office’s unprofessional communication that left me with a lot of anxiety and stress. I hope this helps others avoid the same.

I love Dr. Dharia and everyone at Marina Landing Family Dentistry. I’ve been seeing her for many years, and she’s the best dentist I’ve ever had. What makes her so special is that she doesn’t just care about your teeth, she cares about you as a whole person. Dr. Dharia is warm, gentle, and genuinely cares about her patients well being. The whole team is amazing and walking into the office actually feels comforting, which is not something most people can say about going to the dentist! They’re the best.
