ME on 2ND Hair Salon

I came in for a root bleach touchup. After the first appointment my roots were too orange, so I returned for a correction which was fine. However, during the correction, the bleach was processed aggressively. A hot blow dryer was used close to my scalp while bleach was applied, and at one point I could visibly see steam rising from my head. I left with significant breakage along my hairline and crown, as well as a chemical burn along my hairline and scabbing on my scalp. When I pointed out the breakage during the service, it was minimized and passed off as normal. I had never seen so much of my hair falling out all over the floor and on my lap. I understand there will be some damage from bleach, but this goes well beyond that. After monitoring my hair and scalp for a few days I reached out to the owner, who did not acknowledge the burn at all, blamed me and my personal haircare, and claimed I had been warned about the consequences, when in reality, at my consultation I was told a root touchup would be fine, which is what I agreed to. The salon and staff were truly lovely before this experience, which makes the unprofessional response highly disappointing. I now have to spend years growing out breakage since it's so close to the root and use a wax stick to slick down the short pieces. Edit: Not surprised to see the reply continue to deflect blame. Prior to this appointment, I had only gone to one salon to bleach my hair twice. Before that, my hair was COMPLETELY VIRGIN. I came here specifically to touch up the VIRGIN roots that had grown out. I gave my full hair history at the consultation and agreed that no more bleach would go on my lengths. The breakage in the photos is from careless overlap and aggressive bleach processing. The "products" I was advised to purchase were exclusively their own line. I'm not sure how documented photos of a chemical burn healing over several days is considered a scam. Notice how even in his public response, the burn goes completely unacknowledged; I think that speaks for itself. If you read the responses to any negative review here, you can see the pattern of blame and deflection for yourself.

Emily is so so kind and did such an amazing job toning, trimming, and styling my hair! I came in with pretty busted hair and she completely exceeded my expectations. The stylists are all incredibly knowledgeable and they took the time to explain every single step to me, down to the science behind some products, which is greatly appreciated. I’ve gotten my hair done for the last 10+ years and I’ve never learned so much. Emily even took extra time and restyled my hair because the first time didn’t come out like she wanted (I was happy with the first) - this just shows how much she cares and wants to do a great job (which she did!) I can’t recommend this salon enough!

Emily did such an amazing job on my highlights and lowlights! She is incredibly sweet, attentive, and so meticulous with every detail, which I really appreciate when it comes to color. My hair turned out exactly how I wanted. She also gives one of the best shampoos ever, and her blowout with round brush curls was perfection. My hair felt so soft, blended beautifully, and looked amazing when I left. Highly recommend booking with Emily!

We went to this place for a very last minute blow out for a friend and a hair mask for two other people. I didn’t make an appointment or at least I did (same day) but it wasn’t confirmed but we still showed up and they actually squeezed us in to their schedule. I would really recommend to book an appointment. Everyone was very friendly and always try engage you in a conversation. The salon and the bathroom was very clean and is well-kept. I must have missed it but I don’t think they have curling irons here, I think they only use a blow dryer and a round brush for your blow out (at least that’s what they did to my friend). It looks nice tho. Queen was great and my friend she’s fantastic. Our hair was very soft after doing the mask and my friend liked her blowout. I think on their website it says “blow drying costs extra”. We didn’t get our hair blow dried because we wanted it to air dry. If you have any questions, just give them a call or text them, they are very responsive. Tiny gems: -the backyard I love how they have a backyard where you can sit (weather-permitting) while you wait for your hair to cure or do its thing. It is great to get fresh air and not smell all those chemical fumes from hair products. -snacks and drinks and waiting area This place offers snacks and drinks while you wait. They also have bar tables and chairs that is great for people that are not getting any thing done.
