Mint Hair Studio

I love getting my hair cut, styled, and highlighted by Tava at Mint Hair Studio! I’ve been getting my hair done by Tava for the past 4+ years. She is super fun to talk to, has a head of brilliant blue hair, and is very skilled at designing beautiful, natural cuts and colors. I am a GenX gal who doesn’t want to spend much time fussing with my hair. I like being able to wash, condition, comb, and then let my blunt-cut, layered bob just air dry. Tava cuts my hair so I can do this. When she highlights my hair (I get the face framing option), they last a long time and grow out well for almost a year (my hair grows slowly so that helps). The Mint Hair Studio is a lovely, airy, cute salon on the third floor of a building in Old Ballard. It’s very close to Salt & Straw. I usually walk there but there is a good amount of paid street parking nearby. Just make sure to give yourself enough time to find parking, pay for it if needed, and walk to your appointment. It is Ballard after all and you know how parking can get challenging during certain times of the day. Finding the right stylist is such a personal choice and I am grateful I found Tava during the pandemic and stuck with her. If you’re looking for an excellent hair stylist who practices north of the ship canal, you can’t go wrong with Tava at Mint Hair Studio.

I've been going to Lauren for cut and color for over five years, and she is absolutely amazing. I always leave with hair that looks great until my next visit (sometimes 6 months apart!). The last time I left her salon and was walking around Ballard, someone stopped me just to say how great my hair looked. She is so talented and gem of a person, can't recommend her highly enough!

I had a wonderful experience getting a haircut and blow-dry with Tava. She really listened to my whole hair story, with recent medication-related hair thinning and my current goals to keep my hair long. She worked some type of magic and was able to clean up split ends and make my hair much healthier, with barely taking off any length! She is also so kind and upbeat, and the whole experience was fun and positive. I have seen several other stylists in other salons in the area, and this is the first time in a while that I ended up with exactly what I was asking for. Would 100% recommend Tava, and I am definitely going to continue to see her.

I've been wanting to do something fun with my hair for awhile and am so glad to have had Katie as my stylist! She did a fantastic job on my money bang and also did a nice trim, which was long overdue on my end. Will definitely be coming back to make this my regular hair salon.

I see Lauren George for a Cezanne smoothing treatment and hair cut about every six months. I have curly hair and this treatment is so fabulous it de-frizzes and relaxes it a little. This makes it super fast and quick to blow dry and also …
