I’m a permanent makeup artist. I was recommended to visit this place by a PMU classmate because I was new to the area. She mentioned it was her mom’s shop. I booked by sending a reference photo and showed the same photo again to the hairstylist, Linh Vo, before she started the session. On 11/26/2024, this was the most damaging hair service I have ever experienced. During the appointment, my hair was handled very roughly—I felt significant pain from the pulling and brushing. Bleaching product was carelessly applied and ended up on my face multiple times as sections of hair were thrown after application. Some even got into my eyes, and my skin felt like it was burning. I had to ask Linh myself to clean it off, as it was not addressed. After the bleach was rinsed out, Linh brushed my hair roughly while it was still wet and not dried. I noticed a lot of breakage, with strands of my hair falling onto my cape and the floor, along with a noticeable amount of trimmed hair. After the service, the result looked nothing like the reference photo. The highlights were too large and placed too close to the roots. I also lost approximately 10–12 inches of my front hairline due to severe breakage from the bleaching. I asked Linh to correct the front highlights by making them smaller using a darker color. Although she attempted to fix it, I was sent home without my hair being properly rinsed or shampooed. By the way Moonlight Beauty Salon claimed the breakage front hair was just my natural baby hair, which is completely untrue. I later went to my regular hairstylist, who confirmed my hair was previously healthy and that the breakage was caused by improper bleaching. I was advised to avoid any chemical treatments or heat styling for at least 2–3 years to allow recovery. As shown in the photos, the damage to my front hairline is severe and cannot be easily styled or hidden. This has had a significant emotional impact on me. As someone working in the beauty industry, this situation has been extremely distressing. I even had to cancel an important upcoming wedding engagement due to the condition of my hair. This was a very upsetting experience both during and after the service. I strongly advise others to be cautious.

Moonlight Beauty Salon did an amazing job on my haircut and perm! They are the perfect balance of reasonable pricing paired with great quality. I had been toying with the idea of cutting my waist-length hair into a layered bob, but I felt held back by the fact that I wanted something pretty specific for my hair and didn't know where to go. After a few months of on-and-off looking for a salon, I finally came across Moonlight Beauty Salon and decided that if they had openings for a walk in, I would just go and finally chop my hair. My stylist, Linh, was friendly and welcoming, and when I showed her a reference video and a couple photos of what I wanted, she immediately asked a couple clarifying questions and made a couple suggestions that made me confident she knew what she was doing and understood what I wanted. She did a GREAT job and almost perfectly replicated the video I showed her! I couldn't be happier with my new cut!! I'd highly recommend Moonlight Beauty Salon and will definitely be going back for future haircuts!
