Nagoya Japanese Restaurant

I want to be fair because the food itself was excellent. The hibachi meal was a 10 out of 10. Unfortunately, the customer service was a completely different experience. My friend and I came in for lunch, and from the start, the person taking our order rushed us and didn’t seem interested in listening to what we were saying. It made us feel like we needed to hurry through the ordering process. The most concerning part happened while the chef was cooking. He appeared to be distracted, and hot oil and water splattered from the hibachi onto my face. Accidents happen, and I understand that. What I couldn’t understand was how the situation was handled afterward. When I informed the staff, I expected someone to check on me, apologize, or at least show some concern. Instead, I felt as though the manager viewed me as someone trying to get free food, which was far from the truth. I wasn’t asking for anything free. I simply wanted the incident acknowledged and handled professionally. Instead, I was told, rather bluntly, that I needed to provide a doctor’s note. The food is absolutely worth ordering. However, great food should be matched with great customer service and genuine concern for customer safety. I sincerely hope management works on how they respond when a customer is injured because empathy and professionalism are just as important as a great meal.

Visited this place twice, and both times were disappointing. The chicken udon had almost no veggies and tasted like canned chicken. The sushi didn’t seem fresh either. For the price, the quality is very poor. Would not recommend.

Went here with my wife and my brother and sister in-laws food was great the chef was funny and very good at his job. The food was excellent. The atmosphere is perfect it is a special occasion type of place for the cost but we'll worth it.

The absolute WORST hibachi experience I’ve ever had in Arlington! I see why this place was empty everyone was just standing around doing nothing. The scenery might look cute, but don’t let that fool you because the food is absolutely terrible. We went for a date night and left completely disappointed. There was no energy, no entertainment, no fun nothing! The chef didn’t speak a single word, just quietly cooked, did one volcano scene, dropped food on our plates, and walked off. That’s not hibachi, that’s sad. The chicken wasn’t fully cooked, the rice was half overcooked and half undercooked, and the yum yum sauce tasted like straight mayonnaise. Everyone sitting at our table looked disappointed too. When we called the manager over, he didn’t care at all. His exact words were, “It’s on the chef if they want to entertain but they don’t have to.” So basically, we paid over $100 to sit with strangers, eat bland and unevenly cooked food, and get one quick flame for “entertainment.” The salad was soggy, the shrimp tempura rolls tasted old and mushy, and the veggies were far from fresh. Honestly, the best thing we had was the Shirley Temple and even that didn’t come with a refill. This place is a complete joke. Management doesn’t care once you’re seated, and the food is not worth your time or money. If you want real hibachi and a fun experience, save yourself the disappointment and go somewhere else. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!

​I have been a loyal customer of Nagoya for 18 years, consistently enjoying both the food and the service. However, the quality of service has declined significantly, and I will no longer be returning. ​The new owner, James, was incredibly rude and outright refused to serve me. When I chose to walk out, he did not seem to care at all about losing a long-time customer. I do not recommend you go here...there are much better options elsewhere.
