Sucks. Like all other markets near here, stuff is outrageously expensive. Like $12 peanut butter. $9 plastic wrap roll. This place is especially expensive and the worker guy is crappy. Like “even if you buy stuff, won’t give you your $5 change in all $1s,if requested” crappy. If you’re in a position where these markets seem like your only option for GROCERY SHOPPING, please look into these options: 1)-Online grocery order and delivery. —->If you DONT HAVE A CARD TO USE FOR ONLINE ORDERS, (since I know you’ll have at least $15-25 cash if you’re planning on going to these markets), use the cash to buy a Visa, AmEx, etc. gift card at CVS, Walgreens, etc (or one for the food delivery company itself, like Instacart) and use the card to order groceries (for delivery) online. New customers can def find discount codes for delivery places. —->If you dont have a device to use to order (phone,computer, internet service etc.), or don’t know how to navigate the websites, see if there’s a TRUSTED relative or friend who can help you do it. It’s the difference between paying $7.50 for a pack of English muffins or $2.50. $10 jar of jam or $2.99. $16 laundry detergent or $6. 2) OR if you can, go to Target or Trader Joes (TJs IS NOT expensive, like many people wrongly think! It’s cheaper than Safeway!) If not Target or Trader Joe’s, go to Safeway. 3) Consider Walgreens and CVS. These places are very pricey normally but if they have deals or coupons, stuff can be REALLY CHEAP! In particular, you can usually always find deals on some options of cereal (not rate to find $1.99/$2.99 cereals that go for $6-$10 at corner markets), laundry products, dental stuff, vitamins, and hair/body washing items, BUT YOU MUST HAVE AN ACCOUNT (just those free discount accounts that you input a phone number for) AND CHECK TO SEE WHATS ON SALE/COUPONS THAT WEEK! Cereal will be down to $1.79 on a good week but $7.79 normally so you MUST have know what you’re there to get. Laundry detergent can be $2.50 discount but $11 normal. It’s easy to check their ad online or at the door, the paper ad, when you arrive. Whew that’s it. I just get worked up when corner stores are selling things for $13 when they bought them for 99¢! And to low-income people. Stop here for a $1 bottle of water or Shasta soda if you need to. If you need a lighter, don’t buy it here because it’s $2.50. Go up one block to the right where they sell fried chicken and pay $2. (Don’t go to the “I C U market or the open-late market on O’Farrell and Larkin. Their $2 lighters are crappy fake BICs.) The nicest market owner is at the place on the corner of Geary and Hyde (entrance on Geary). It’s expensive, like they all are, but the owner has a kind demeanor. It’s crappy that these places leech money from people who don’t have much to begin with, and much worse when the guys that work there are ill-tempered, uncouth jerks.

When a store shares an intersection with two other corner stores you would think some attention would be paid to pricing. On average you're spending at least 15%-20% more here than the other two stores. Most of the time whoever is behind the counter is annoying at best, outright rude the rest. Pick a different store. It's just your average convenient store in a not so great part of San Francisco but the people that hang around the front and up and down the street do not bother you. They have the quick things you need.

Walking to this corner store is part of my nightly ritual when I'm in the TL and buy some scratchers. Pay attention to your surroundings and you shouldn't have any issues.
