Pho Hung Cuong Restaurant

The fried noodles with shrimp chicken and beef and lots of vegetables was so delicious. We also had sesame chicken with beautiful broccoli and Fried Rice. Everything was so good and the man that was our server was really very good. Kept our tea glass is full.🥳

Talk about a place to eat with your family. I brought my wife for the first time, I would go to this place when I was 21 and it still gives me that cozy feeling. The food was hot and cooked on the spot, still as delicious as I remembered it. The egg drop soup is what I considered as the standard for all egg drops. So if it doesn’t taste like theirs then it’s wrong! 🤣 All in all, 5 stars!

Wow! A food critic rated this as the number one pho place in San Antonio, I wholeheartedly agree. The broth is a home broth simmered for hours upon hours, it was rich and complex. The rare steak was melt in your mouth beautiful. My girlfriend was not in a "pho mood" and was very satisfied with her grilled meat dish, we WILL be back.

Ive visited years apart, and unfortunately the experience was disappointing both times. The first visit was a few years ago. I waited over an hour for my pho before finally deciding to leave. When I asked about the delay, the server responded, "It's busy, can't you see that?" I understand restaurants get busy, but waiting that long for pho without any communication, followed by a rude response, wasn't acceptable. I recently decided to give them another try. The fried roll was terrible...it was oversized and had an odd taste, like an overwhelming amount of pepper mixed with sink water. On the positive side, the pho was actually very good. I really liked that you can choose your own meat. As someone who loves tendon, it's hard to find places that let you order pho with only tendon, so that was a big plus. Unfortunately, the service was still very slow, even though there were only a couple of other customers in the restaurant. The waitress seemed much more interested in being on her phone than checking on guests. The pho has potential, especially with the customizable meat options, but the consistently slow service and poor customer experience make it difficult for me to recommend this place.

I'm a little disappointed I didn't get peanut sauce with my spring rolls. They give me extra fish sauce 🤦‍♂️. Food was a little pricey but the portion did seem reasonable.
