Purple Lotus Temple has evidence based track records of supporting the local community in the past 30+ years. I have participated in a few and I am very impressed with this organization’s devotion to help underserved communities. The temple is a visually breathtaking local landmark featuring intricate traditional architecture and a meticulously maintained main hall with magnificent statuary. It offers a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for quiet reflection, alongside insightful community events that promote mindfulness, compassion, and spiritual growth.

Purple Lotus Temple is more than a spiritual center; it has been the foundation of my personal growth since I attended Purple Lotus School in 2004. Growing up in that close-knit environment in Union City, I experienced a unique education where regular academics were balanced with an hour of daily Buddhist practice. It was a vibrant, international community where classmates became lifelong friends—we are still in close contact twenty years later. Even after moving to the South Bay, the values of compassion and mindfulness I learned stayed with me. Today, I regularly visit the breathtaking new temple in Fremont to volunteer. Continuing these practices brings me a profound sense of calm and joy that anchors my life. Seeing the temple’s evolution from its original roots to this stunning monastery has been a beautiful journey. For anyone seeking a community rooted in tradition and genuine connection, Purple Lotus is a true sanctuary. It shaped who I am, and I am honored to give back to a place that has given me so much.

One of a kind temple in the area. The monks in this temple spend most of their days meditating and praying for peace in the world. Whenever there is a disaster in the news, you can find them meditating for the peaceful resolution. The temple itself is beautiful situated next to Quarry Lakes. They host a lunar new year ceremony and a autumn deliverance ceremony every year. So far those are the only two events open to the public. I hope they are able to open their doors more often soon, so more people can experience the calm peaceful energy the temple brings.

As a volunteer at the Second Harvest Food Bank, I see the harsh reality of the current economic downtime every day. The number of under-served families struggling to survive is heartbreaking, but organizations like the Purple Lotus Temple are the reason we can keep going. What strikes me most about the temple is the sheer scale of their selflessness. Over the past few years, I have personally collected multiple truckloads of donation goods from their Fremont location. While many organizations seek publicity for their charity work, Purple Lotus Temple operates with a humble, quiet grace. Every time I walk into the temple to coordinate a pickup, I am struck by the immediate shift in energy. It is a place of profound peace. The weight of the world’s problems seems to lift the moment you step onto the grounds. Working alongside the Lamas is a truly enlightening experience. Their dedication to "rescuing the soul of humankind" through both teaching and action is inspiring. You can feel that their Buddhist learning isn't just academic—it is lived. Their devotion to alleviating the suffering of the local community is a direct reflection of their spiritual purity. The world desperately needs more places like the Purple Lotus Temple. They aren't just feeding bodies with truckloads of food; they are feeding the spirit of our community with their unwavering kindness. I am deeply honored to work with this wonderful organization. Their generosity is a shining example of what it means to practice compassion by heart, and our community is infinitely better because they are in it.

This temple continually prays for world peace. It prays that major disasters around the world may be reduced to minor ones, and minor ones to none at all. With compassion for all sentient beings, it also regularly donates food to responsible organizations to help people who are facing hardships in life.
