ROL Hand Roll Bar - Fountain Valley

Absolutely no words. If I could steal Daniel to help run some of my businesses, I'd be a very happy man. Such incredible attention to detail, a smile that would brighten up any room, and truly a professional customer service personality. That being said, food was SCRUMPTIOUS. Every roll was simple, yet packed with flavor, well balanced, and filling. ROL has ruined all other handroll spots for me. Pro tip : 7 Roll Set, Add a Lobster Roll. You won't be disappointed. Pro tip 2 : Truffle Shoyu. Thank me later.

5 stars Absolutely outstanding experience at ROL Hand Roll Bar! I ordered the High Roller Set, which was loaded with premium ingredients like uni, wagyu, toro, lobster, and truffle – every bite was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. My mom, sister, and her boyfriend got other sets, and we all agreed the food quality was top-notch with warm rice and crispy seaweed that elevated everything. The service was awesome – attentive, friendly, and efficient. We also loved the Harland rice beer; it was incredibly smooth and not sweet at all, which was a surprisingly great pairing with the rolls. Plenty of parking in the plaza with no time restrictions, making it stress-free. Highly recommend – we'll be back soon!

4.5 stars. ROL Hand Roll Bar may have limited seating, but it’s overflowing with flavor and charm. This is hands-down one of my favorite sushi spots in OC! My absolute must-orders: the crispy rice tartar (perfection), yellowtail, toro truffle, and the refreshing dragonfruit lychee lemonade. These will be on repeat every time I visit. Also delicious: the scallop, salmon, spicy tuna crunch, and yuzu kosho—great if you’re craving something specific, though not essentials for me. Only miss? The Hojicha purin didn’t quite do it for me. Probably skipping that next time. Service is solid and the vibe is just right. I’ll definitely be back for another round (or five).

I don’t usually post reviews, or even have an active google account, but I had to sign into a really old one just to leave a review because of how special this place was. I went on Valentine’s Day around 8:30-9:00 and was expecting some decent sushi but boy was I shocked. This food was prepped to perfection and made with love. A mere basic Salmon roll had so much flavor and was perfectly packed and rolled. I believe a huge part of this mesmerizing experience was because of the gentlemen who was preparing our rolls. His name was Matthew. He deserves ALL the praise and should be the absolute standard for service. He was absolutely locked in when prepping our rolls and you were able to feel it and taste it with each roll. A true master at his craft. He was genuinely so polite and respectful and kind and caring, this dude will be one of the main reasons I return which after tonight, will be many many more times in the future. Perfect date night, perfect meal, perfect service.
