I rarely leave negative reviews, but after attempting to resolve this directly with the salon, I feel compelled to share my experience. And, if I could leave zero stars I would. I booked an appointment for a tapered cut on 6/3/26 after first reaching out to ask which service and stylist would be best suited for the look I wanted. Before my appointment, I sent inspiration photos and videos, and during the consultation I reviewed them again with the stylist. Prior to the appointment I had shoulder length hair. However, despite my early arrival, the appointment began shaky because my stylist was running late to the salon, and I was not notified. As she rushed through the door, she asked if my name was another client’s name. I responded no and told her my name. This left me feeling less confident about my haircut from the beginning. Nevertheless, we move forward and discussed how I wear my naturally curly hair and the style I was hoping to achieve. During the haircut, I repeatedly expressed concern about the amount of length being removed. I specifically said things like, “I like my length right here,” “Are you going to cut any more?” and “Please do not cut further than this.” Despite those comments, more length continued to come off. As someone with naturally curly hair, I was also concerned that my hair was shrinking as it dried, yet additional length was still being removed. By the end of the appointment, my hair was significantly shorter than the photos we had reviewed together. One moment that stood out to me was when the stylist asked if the haircut looked even from my perspective. As the client, I wasn’t in a position to accurately assess that. I was relying on her professional expertise to determine whether the cut was balanced and even. After the cut, the final result looked nothing like the inspiration photos, even accounting for differences in styling. I called the salon on my drive home to request a refund. While explaining my concerns to the owner/manager, I was interrupted mid-sentence and transferred directly to the stylist. When I explained that my hair was uneven and that the sides appeared overcut, I was told that my sides were not overcut and that I simply needed products to elongate my curls. Not once did she ask for me to come back to the salon or send her pictures of my hair. The issue was not products. Product cannot replace hair that has already been cut off. After washing my hair at home, the unevenness became even more apparent. The sides felt much shorter than the center, and the overall shape did not resemble the tapered cut I requested. Instead, I received some sort of mohawk mullet. I ultimately had to have a licensed cosmetologist friend help correct the haircut. The corrective cut took two hours to complete and I now have an inch of hair because of how uneven it was. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this salon/stylist for curly cuts based on my experience. Update: I received my refund on 6/6/26 without an apology, service credit, or accountability.

Ms. Marilyn is a Hair Magician! This was our first visit to Salon X Change, and Ms. Marilyn exceeded every expectation. My teenage daughter’s hair was damaged, but after a treatment, trim, and silk press, it has been completely restored. The bob she cut is absolute perfection with so much volume! Beyond her skills, Ms. Marilyn creates an atmosphere that is professional, relaxing, and hilarious all at once. We felt so welcomed , and my daughter is finally on the right path to a healthy hair journey. I’d recommend her to anyone and can’t wait for my own appointment!

I've been going to Salon X Change since 2022 and would usually get twists. In 2025, I wanted to try a style that would last longer and was low manipulation to my natural hair, since I was having hair growth issues. At that point, I had never gotten extensions done before, and was a little apprehensive. But then I had a consultation appointment with a stylist named Makenna, who helped me find what style I'd feel comfortable with, and also gave great advice about maintenance with the style to support hair growth. Since then, I've been going to Makenna to get Knotless Braids with feed-in hair at bob length. And I'm even seeing some progress with the hair growth! (First two photos were from early 2025; last two are from this Apr 2026)

This was my first time getting a silk press and I absolutely LOVED the experience. Camille took very good care of me and my hair and she explained each step of the process. I am so in love with my HAIR! Thank you again and I can't wait to come back!

Would not recommend going here. I came in for a silk press and for my bangs to be cut. For reference I wanted Sabrina Carpenter curtain style bangs and ended up with a Chinese bowl cut 🙄 FML. See pics for reference. Although my stylist Tiffany was very nice and I enjoyed chatting with her I wish she was honest about her skill level when cutting bangs and let someone else do it instead because now I have to wait months for my hair grow out and get the style that I wanted originally. My hair is also cut uneven. I could have done a better job and im not a licensed cosmetologist. I wear my hair curly 95% of the time so I'm curious to see how much of a mess it looks when my hair is no longer straight. Overall very disappointing 😞. Tiffany did acknowledge the bad work and said she was sorry and did not charge for the service. However, this will be my first and last time at this establishment.
