Seafood City Supermarket

This is a newly opened filipino grocery market with a lil food court and bakery. It is super clean and bright inside with lots of great selections. They have a wide variety of filipino / asian snacks and drinks. Their food court has a grill city, sizzle, and a noodle street. We ordered the bulalo beef shank, the bangus sisg, the palabok, and the cucumber lemon juice from Sizzle. We also ordered bagnet kare kare, the asado bun, and the buko lychee drink from Noodle Street. My most favorites were the bulalo beef shank and the bagnet kare kare. I would definitely get these again and recommend these items. The palabok ended up being too salty due to the sauce. It also only came with only three pieces of shrimp. We were able to exchange it for another bangus sisig. The drinks from both places were only ok and I’d just skip them next time. The cucumber in the lemonade drink was overpowering and the lychee drink could do without the coconut taste. The asado bun was fine and tastes like any another asado bun. You can ask for a water cup at the counter as they have water jugs near the seating area. Parking is easy to find here.

First time there since they open. My wife bought a Phillipines dessert which had a mold on the side. Luckily we still have the receipt, so we can get a refund. Look carefully before buying!

New seafood city in Daly City- clean and organized - groceries prices are good but food is expensive though - it’s commercialized Filipino food - had the bansilog the other day and you get more bang for your buck at Manila eatery. They have a cute little soup spot where the soup comes boiling in a little setup so I thought that was cool- good place to checkout. Seafood area you can have your fish cut sliced diced and de-scaled, and also fried.

So much to say about this store and to summarize it, first is that the Pandesal they sell has this awful smell. I don’t know if its just the type of the flour they use in making the bread but it just has this smell that I don’t understand. Then we found some grocery snacks that are expired on the shelves (we are thorough to check because we learned our lesson, we had a similar situation in Callan location before and we ended up disposing the items because it was just too far from where we live and an $35 uber was not worth it). Their Chicharron and Fried Chicken Skin are hard to chew, maybe too much cornstach? And of course, they got few cashiers who are not approachable. I am giving the 2-stars for their employees who are friendly, helpful, and working very hard though, I appreciate all of them.

This Seafood City at the old Pacific Super Market location in Daly City is like traveling to the Philippines. Fresh food, busy, and a good place to simply people watch. Parking was rough, but its worth the wait! This is THE spot for all things Pinoy in Daly City, aka Mini Manila 🇵🇭
