I recently visited Silver Lake Beauty Salon for a haircut, and unfortunately, my experience started off very frustrating. I clearly explained that I wanted a V-shaped layered haircut with bangs below my eyebrows, along with a shampoo. The first hairstylist, a lady wearing a blonde/yellow coat, did not seem to listen carefully to what I was asking for. At one point, she asked me to stand up while she was cutting my hair so she could see the V-shape better. I was honestly surprised because I’ve never had a stylist ask me to stand up during a haircut simply to achieve a particular shape. I even asked if she could raise the chair instead, but she insisted that standing would allow her to see the V-shape better. During the haircut, she used a razor to shape my hair. Eventually, she passed me to another hairstylist who was working very close to the cashier. Unfortunately, the second stylist simply continued based on what the first stylist had told her instead of asking me directly what I wanted. Because of that, the miscommunication continued. My bangs ended up being cut above my eyebrows, even though I specifically requested them below my eyebrows, and the V-shape was not the layered, lighter shape I had originally requested. I was already tired from traveling and had gone to the salon hoping to relax and enjoy a simple haircut and shampoo. Instead, I ended up spending additional time trying to explain what I wanted and having my hair corrected. That said, I want to give a BIG THANK YOU to Nancy and Celine. Nancy listened to my concerns and helped address the situation, while Celine took the time to actually listen to what I wanted and did a great job correcting the haircut. She made the V-shape lighter, more defined, and much closer to the style I originally requested. Unfortunately, she could only do so much with the bangs because they had already been cut too short, but I truly appreciated her effort. This experience is a good reminder that customer service starts with listening and communication. Experience is important, but even years of experience cannot replace simply listening to the customer. The customer should be asked directly what they want instead of assuming that another stylist’s explanation is enough. I hope this doesn’t happen to another customer. Please listen carefully, confirm the requested style, and make sure everyone involved is on the same page before continuing the haircut. That would have saved everyone time and frustration. Again, thank you Nancy and Celine for stepping in, listening to me, and working together to correct the situation. I genuinely appreciate you both. ❤️ I still rated 5-Star because of Nancy and Celine🤩. The money was never the issue. The issue was being heard, understood, and respected as a customer.

I believe Kim did a terrible job. I asked for a regular fade, but she took it way too high. On top of that, she was pressing the clippers so hard against my skin that it actually hurt. The haircut was supposed to be $15, but I was charged $20, including a tip I didn’t agree to. Overall, I ended up with a bad haircut and a painful experience.

I’ve used SBS almost since it opened…. The staff are always friendly. Lucy always cuts my naturally curly hair; MiMi also does a great job, (she’s very patient with my dad who’s got Alzheimer’s ) my husband & son also go here for Haircut, shave & eyebrow waxing & like it a lot. Nancy & Kim give me awesome pedi’s, with cute decorations; all the girls are great though, and the shop is very clean. I’m not sure why there’s negative reviews, I’ve never had a problem with any of the staff. If there’s anything special I wanted as a design they’ve always been very accommodating & always design something cute on my big toes. It’s not super fancy, but they’re kind, nice, clean, & very affordable.

Kim is my go-to when it comes down to Pedicures and manicures. Definitely takes her time, is very attentive, and kind.

We started coming here because the hairstylists are friendly and very good. You can basically go to any of the hairstylist and get great results.
