I had a very troubling experience at Sprouts Farmers Market on April 28, 2026 around 6:15 PM that I feel other customers should be aware of. I came in calmly to request help with an exchange and provided my ID as part of the process. The employee assisting me (Sherry) then went into the manager’s office where Assistant Store Manager Miguel was located. When Miguel came out, he never greeted me or tried to understand the situation. From the very beginning his tone felt confrontational and aggressive. He immediately stated that I could not exchange anything, and the interaction quickly escalated. Instead of trying to help, it felt like Miguel and Sherry teamed up and became increasingly hostile and dismissive. What should have been a simple customer service interaction turned into a tense and uncomfortable confrontation. There was also an older employee in a blue shirt who witnessed the situation unfold. I asked how I could contact an Area Manager because I no longer felt comfortable with how things were being handled. I was told no Store Manager was present and they refused to provide escalation contact information. They then called another manager, Cindy, to the front, but the situation did not improve. At this point, I began recording because I genuinely started to feel uncomfortable and concerned for my safety. I was then told to “call the police,” which felt extremely unnecessary and intimidating for a situation that started as a simple request for help. I chose to leave the store to avoid further conflict. However, as I walked out, Miguel and Cindy followed me outside. Being followed by management after trying to leave made the situation feel even more intimidating and escalated my fear and discomfort. I was then told that I am no longer allowed back in the store. I left feeling shaken, embarrassed, and singled out. No customer should feel intimidated, confronted, or followed out of a store simply for asking for assistance and escalation. This experience was especially concerning because it involved multiple members of management and there was no store manager present to provide balanced leadership or de-escalation. Situations like this highlight why strong, professional, and diverse leadership matters in customer-facing environments. Sprouts promotes itself as a welcoming, community-focused company. This experience felt like the complete opposite, and I truly hope corporate leadership reviews the management approach and customer service training at this location so no one else has a similar experience. After leaving the store, I reviewed other customer feedback for this location and noticed a pattern of complaints mentioning spoiled or poor-quality produce. For a company that markets itself around fresh, healthy food, recurring concerns about product quality become a serious customer trust and food safety issue. Customers rely on grocery stores to provide safe, properly handled food. When multiple reviews raise concerns about produce quality, it signals a need for stronger oversight, training, and quality control at the store level. When this is combined with the customer service experience I described above, it raises broader concerns about leadership, accountability, and operational standards at this location. I strongly encourage corporate leadership to take a close look at this store’s management, customer service training, and food quality practices to ensure the experience customers expect from Sprouts is actually being delivered.

This entire place smells so bad due to the open butchering. I used to go to this place very often earlier, but had to stop going due to so bad smell that we feel suffocating. Wonder how the employees work there! 🙄 …

Miguel needs a raise, he has gone over the top for me. He has been so helpful and nice. Thank you so much for the great customer service, we need a miguel at every store. Sprouts give him a raise asap.
