T & J NAILS

I was shocked at just how bad my nails turned out. I asked for a gel manicure and the end result was horrible. There were bubbles, clumps, and all around a really messy job. I brought this up with the artist and she said it looked fine to her. She did not fix them and was annoyed that I kept asking her to take another look. She either lied to me to get me to leave, which is bad or she genuinely thought they looked good which is somehow worse. The salon itself is also pretty dirty and outdated. I would avoid this place.

So I went to get a pedicure and gel refill this afternoon and walked into T&J nails. At first glance the place is weathered and that is being kind. The furniture is soiled and stained and mid matched. The staff did not respond to me in a happy friendly manner. YET because I was in a hurry I made the choice to get service there. So first the pedicure and that went fine except they had started the process of taking off my old gel and put this clips on your nails so hard to get your socks off for the pedicure but no worries I got it. Secondly, the place was empty and a young lady comes in asking for a price list and as I am watching this the man makes no attempt to get up or even acknowledge her really and simply replies give me a minute. Well after 20 seconds or so he hands it to her and sits back down and the lady stands at the door for several minutes until she finally just walked off and I was so proud of her. It would have taken one second for the worker in the back to come out and greet her the self identified owner, or one second for the guy who handed her the price list to say if you have any questions I will be with you in a moment. I was so appalled at their dismissive attitude I simply finished my pedicure and instead of a gel refill just had them finish removing the gel and opted to not get more services at T&J’s. When I asked to speak to the manager she was speaking in a loud voice equally as dismissive to me as I had just watched them be to the young lady that came in the door. It was obvious to me that on a busy Saturday why this place was nearly empty. Customer service matters. People work very hard to afford services for themselves and WE HAVE CHOICES. So if your place is obviously very worn down and you don’t have many clients on a Saturday it is probably not kind to be dismissive.

Update 2023: I moved to Oregon and every time I come down to visit I HAVE TO visit TJ Nails. No one in this entire garbage state can provide a service like these ladies at this price. CA girls do it better! 2017: I just moved to Fremont about a year ago and tried so many places to do my eyebrows- TJ Nails was the only one to get it right! I come here to get my eyebrow wax and pedicures. My mom goes to get her manicures here too and she loves them! All the manicurists are so nice and so far I never have to wait long to get attended. However, I would suggest setting an appointment for a manicure. I will only come to this location for my wax and nail needs.

As a loyal customer since 2016, I feel that TJ Nails is a fantastic place. Clean, friendly, and always on trend.
