The Buttercup Gifts and Stationery

The Buttercup offers one stop shopping for any/all your entertaining and gift giving needs. I’ve been a customer for many years and have yet to leave the store empty handed. It’s a great shopping selection coupled with friendly and knowledgeable customer service. The Buttercup team is also very generous in supporting their community outreach needs. Such a staple to the Myers Park community!!

While exploring nearby, I popped into this shop—and I’m so glad I did. As a top Google Local Guide and cancer scientist, I truly believe we must seize happiness and moments of joy whenever we can. One of my favorite times of year is Christmas, especially discovering beautiful and unique ornaments. Be sure to check my photos to see the special one I brought home! During my two visits, I had the pleasure of speaking with several incredibly helpful employees, including Lauren and Isabel (some staff were seasonal as well). I learned the store has been in business for over 50 years and is now run by the lovely and highly professional Kim, the daughter-in-law of the original owner. She took over in 2017, thoughtfully modernizing the shop while preserving its classic charm. The store offers everything from home décor and college merchandise to personalized invitations and perfect hostess gifts and exceptional, personalized service. I admit—I sometimes go on and on about my breast cancer research, as this fight (or rather, war) against such a devastating disease is deeply personal to me. Kim was gracious, kind, and took the time to truly listen as I shared how my work focuses on improving patient outcomes during these very uncertain times in cancer research. That meant more to me than she may know. I was so pleased with my experience that I’ll be sharing this gem with my neighbors back home in Davidson—and encouraging a day trip to Charlotte just to shop here. I went To go buy some bracelets and the staff was so lovely and welcoming. She prioritized time with me helping me build a beautiful stack and assisting me with anything else i needed. Their store was beautiful and organized well and will be going back and supporting them for any other needs and a great store for holiday gifts !!
