I came in and got an extra short gel-X set— AMAZING work, super diligent attention to detail!! Also very friendly service, really flexible when I saw the color I had initially chosen on my pinky at first and then decided against it and they knew the perfect alternate. There was a super comfy and clean atmosphere with comfortable seating and they offered me something to drink which was nice too!! Here’s my before (brown nails) and after (nude/peach nails).

Ive been to a couple of nail bars in the area- but this has been my best experience thus far. They have massage chairs and the staff is very professional. Make sure you book an appointment. They do ask you all the details before because they have the tips precut for different sizes and shapes. The service was great. They introduced me to gel x nails- which apparently is easier on the nails but broke too soon. But they have a 3 day policy where they’ll re-do your nails if something goes wrong . So, the second time I went in- they took me in almost immediately and fixed it. I will be returning..

I got my nails done here twice to give it another shot but I will not be coming again. The first time was to try the gel extensions that was pushed on me ($112 with 15% tip). I was told that if anything happens to the nails in 6 days, they’d fix it. Those lasted a week before they popped off and were past the policy so I didn’t get it fixed. Instead I went to The Muse in SF and they also did a Gel X that lasted over 3.5 weeks. I came back recently (on Saturday) because it’s more convenient to get to and did a dip powder on my natural nails ($67 with tip since they had to remove the Gel X from before). However, it is now Thursday and they have been chipping; one came off completely because it lifted. I called to get it fixed and a woman at the front desk said their policy to fix nails is 3 DAYS and ONLY on Gel polish. I will not come back here again. It’s worth paying a little more to not have to get your nails done as frequently. And to have much better customer service.

I normally don’t leave reviews, but I feel obligated to warn the girlies bc this was a huge waste of my time & money ($197😭). I hadn’t been here in over a year, & now I remember why. So firstly, when I booked my appt no one asked me what type of pedicure service I wanted nor if I wanted a design with my gel x set, etc. So I show up expecting to see some type of menu / price list, but didn’t. When I finally saw a pedicure menu (upon request), I was told they didn’t have time to accommodate my request. I said it was fine, told them I hadn’t been here in a while & would be more prepared next time. Then I was told that I also couldn’t receive the mani that I wanted because the only person who can do designs only works on Saturdays—something that would’ve been helpful to know up front. I wanted to just leave at that point but the pedicure had already begun, and seeing my disappointment they offered to accommodate the pedicure package I requested, and told me I could COME BACK Sat. for the design. I reluctantly agreed & tried to enjoy my pedicure, which is the only part of my experience that was enjoyable. At the end of my initial appt, I was asked to email my design to them, & I did so on the spot. At no point was I told there would be a separate charge for a design, but SURPRISE! There is. Fast forward to today, over 12 hours later, I arrive to my appt on time & am asked to sit & wait for the nail tech (totally fine). Despite having previously emailed the design, the colors weren’t ready (OR EVEN AVAILABLE APPARENTLY) & the tech didn’t seem confident with the design despite not saying a word about it. She seems nice, but was clearly rushing & not interested in giving me a quality design that I could feel confident and happy with. Unfortunately, I wasn’t shown the designs one step at a time to make sure that I liked them so I didn’t see where this was going until we were 2-3 layers in. Nervous and not wanting to cause a fuss, I decided to trust the process bc SURELY she wouldn’t leave the lines all sloppy, & perhaps we could go over some of the less appealing colors with a different one or SOMETHING!! I finally realized she wasn’t seeing what I was seeing & expressed that I didn’t like some of the colors, air bubbles, nor a few of the designs, & would like a 2 of the nails just wiped clean. Instead, she added a noticeably thicker layer to cover the air bubbles. After expressing my discomfort once again, she passed me off to someone else to do the clear coat, which I declined bc now I have to try take this layer off at home since they would not. She quickly moved on to the next customer, & I sat there for a minute in shock. I went to the register expecting to just pay & cry on the way home, but the owner asked me about my experience at checkout & for 30 milliseconds I thought he might try to make it right. I showed him the reference photo vs what I received thinking it was obvious why I was displeased. He made excuses about not having the exact colors (which he could’ve told me in advance… I thought that was part of the reason why I emailed the photo the day before—to make sure they can do it…). I showed him the lines, the gaps between some of them, the extra thick correction layer, & the air bubbles, and told him about my experience the day before. He got extremely defensive, was cutting me off, & told me “everyone knows” they only do design on Saturdays, despite me telling him that I clearly did not know that (bc be for real, why would I want to come to this place two days in a row..?) Instead of simply saying that he understood & would train his staff to be more clear & up front on the phone, he continued to get defensive, making me even more uncomfortable than before. Words can’t adequately express how truly disappointed I am by the entirety of this experience. If you want a QUICK, BASIC mani / pedi this is your place. If you want quality service, go somewhere else. I prefer NT Nails in Emeryville. The last 2 photos are of a similar set I had done at NT, for comparison.

I called this salon because my normal one was booked. I told the man on the phone that I wanted 6 removed and a medium length almond shape full set. He said no problem and was told to come straight over. When I arrived everything seemed fine, they asked me to sit at a pedicure chair to get started. I did, everything was going fine, until the tech started cutting my tips. I have never had to show a nail tech what medium was, but when she showed me it looked short so I again told her medium to which she said “yes medium “ after she finished cutting I told again told her it was too short and I didn’t like it, then she had a front desk man come to tell me “it’s too late now and that she has other appointments “ He then explained that they will only charge me 60 for a short set. I was unhappy, but I don’t like confrontation so I told her again I don’t like them and I’m not happy to which she said nothing and continued. Then they had another person paint my nails and they all gave bubbles, texture and sadly I only noticed one before I left smh. I’m very disappointed and will not be back once I get these fixed.
