The Lightening Society Salon

My girl, Sam is the best of the best. I scheduled a 15 minute consultation with her and loved her energy right off the bat. She’s a real girl’s girl, a wonderful mama, and a beautiful spirit through and through. I’m half black and have naturally curly hair. She was up front in telling me that she didn’t have experience with my hair type, which I appreciated. I know my hair pretty well, and she’s a queen with those scissors, so trusting her was a no brainer. I was coming to her after trying to let a bad cut grow out. Like, a baaaddd cut. I knew realistically we wouldn’t achieve my ideal cut at my first appointment, just due to the amount I still needed to grow out. But she took a lot off and gave me a great cut, instantly boosting my confidence BIG time. I’ve since seen her for two more cuts, the most recent was 4 weeks ago and has been one of the best cuts I’ve ever had. I work in a small family owned healthcare clinic with many repeat patients, and have gotten countless compliments on my hair over the past month. Almost every patient that comes in regularly has mentioned how cute my hair is or how great of a cut it is. I’ve NEVER gotten so many compliments on my hair before! In fact, I’ve always struggled with my hair. Sam is a keen listener and an incredible talent when it comes to cutting and styling. I’m so glad that our paths crossed and that I have the pleasure of sitting in her chair every few months. I always leave feeling confident in my looks and confident in my heart and it’s a testament to everything she has to offer. I’m sorry to say we didn’t snag any photos of my most recent cut, but I will post some of the cut prior along with one of my natural hair so you can see the miracle she worked! Also, the salon is lovely with tall ceilings, great decor, and lots of naural lighting. They have snacks and treats and bevvies. Most of the stylists are mamas, so they were great about letting my 6 year old hang out on the couch during my appointment. Sam and Tiffany, the owner, supplied him with snacks and a drink and toys and he was thoroughly occupied and happy. AND there’s a beautiful coffee shop next door with the nicest baristas and coolest books! 12/10 recommend!

I went to Tiffany at the Lightening Society for the first time, and had a great experience! Tiffany was super kind and very knowledgeable about working with my pin straight fine hair. I also got bangs on a whim and left absolutely loving them. Would definitely recommend this salon and booking with Tiffany.

I initially went to Tiffany for a consult about embracing my gray hair! She knew exactly what I meant and now I am a brighter, shinier gray! I’ve had many compliments in the past two years. Tiffany consistently produces the perfect cut and color. Her manner is thoughtful and focused and there is good camaraderie among the stylists. The shop is lovely and comfortable, great music, and healthy snacks! I would highly recommend.

Stephanie is an absolute hair goddess. I have been a client for over 5 years now and she has gone above and beyond in every appointment since the beginning. After moving from Austin I was very nervous to trust a new stylist and she has truly amazed me every time. She is also just the sweetest person and makes you feel so incredible about yourself anytime you’re in her chair. I could not recommend her more!
