The Saint Sandwich Shop

This may be the best sandwich in the entire Bay Area. We drive over half an hour just to eat here. They stack these baddies high with the toppings, have tons of options (including a special each week), and have friendly staff. You can make your own or get one of their preset ones (we get The Saint, trust me, it’s insane)! My only wish is that there was a little more seating, but even with that, it’s a great place!

My wife and I went on a quest to find the best sandwiches in Oakland. I asked AI for the best sandwich shops and it gave us 6, we tried them all, over several months,The Saint is the best, I don't mean it edged out one or two I mean it is hands down the best! (In our humble opinion). We've tried 3 of their regular sandwiches, The Beast, The Saint, Curry Chicken, and 2 of their specials and they're all Great! Highly recommend!

The sandwiches are just fine. They’re ok. Not excellent, not great, not even actually good. I’ve ordered food here like 4-5 times and I’ve been disappointed every single time. The guy at the counter, which I assume is the owner (maybe?) acts like a jerk and like he’s some sort of sandwich savant. He’s always been very unprofessional and snappy and I always dreaded going there every time because I’m scared to ask “what kind of pickled peppers do you have?” Because I’ll get some bad attitude paired with half a response that lets me know it’s the greatest inconvenience to answer a question from a customer. Don’t even bother asking for a simple substitution. I’d be ok with his attitude if the quality of his food was better. Unfortunately, it’s not. So instead you just get bad attitude and a sandwich that’s just a 6/10. If that’s what you’re after, this is the shop for you.

First time here today and all was good! Great lunch spot! The sandwich was cut in half and very tasty and big. The side of pickles were even fresh and delicious! It was called "The Bay". The meat in the sandwich was really good and fresh! The Chipotle pasta salad was so flavorful. The cookie was so soft! So good! I am so happy I found this place. I will be back to try more! They even have vegetarian options. They just changed their hours so they are open 11-4pm everyday. Go checkout! Beautifully decorated inside. It's a vibe!

We were looking for a nice sandwich close to me and found the Saint sandwich shop and glad we did. I ordered the saint sandwich and my wife ordered the diamond. Both were very delicious. 100% will come here again. The service was also very friendly. There is indoor and outdoor sitting if you like to eat there.
