Union Salon

I have visited this salon twice prior to my last visit. The stylist I had been going to no longer works there. I went for a trim. Same one length hair cut I have had for years, I have an under cut but visit my barber for that part so it should have been fairly easy, just needed a couple inches taken off. Cut was complete, hair was blow dry and all looked fine at that time. Washed my hair 2 days later and there was a noticeable length difference from left to right. I called to talk to a manager or owner to see if I could come into have it fixed. I was told to come in and it would be taken care of. I saw the same stylist and showed/explained to them the issue. They had somewhat of a defensive attitude but took scissors and cut a few places here and there. Did not address the longest side which would be the obvious fix. I had to tell her 3 times while sitting there that it was still longer on the right side. At that point an owner came over and checked my hair. She told the stylist something along the lines of “finger length” something or other. The stylist trimmed a tiny more, at that point I was angry, insulted and felt like I was being gaslit. I politely decided to end the cut before more damage was done. I now have a hair cut that is noticeably a inch or so longer on my right side. I can’t wear it down as it is so noticeable and when putting it in a pony tail it lays heavily to the right side. What a disappointment. I have recommended this salon to others in the past but will no longer do so.

Friendly, but low quality. I requested and paid for a full head balayage, but instead, they gave me a partial set of badly toned highlights thinking I wouldn’t notice. I waited for my virgin hair to grow out for this, and if you know, you know. I was so embarrassed going to work with the outcome that I had my sister (who owns a salon in Lakewood) fix my hair so it looked presentable again. When I contacted the salon, they used my honesty against me to give way to void any kind of integrity on the salons end. My recommendation-Save the money and the stress, and select a different salon that won’t cheat you out.

Union Salon has been a great experience. Definitely book in advance as they are well loved and booked out. From the available stylists, Paige is great! She listens well, explains her ideas to achieve my hair goals, and accounts for personalizing them to my face, hair, and skin tone. She has taught me more about my hair and ways to maintain it then any other stylist I've worked with. Thank you Paige!
