Unrefined Bakery

We've been customers of Unrefined Bakery for many years. Before the Richardson location opened, we made the drive to Frisco because it was one of the few places where our daughter could safely enjoy treats and meals despite her extensive food allergies. When the Richardson location opened a few years ago, we were thrilled because it was much closer to home. Our daughter is now 13 and has allergies to wheat, dairy, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, and corn. As any allergy parent knows, school events, birthday parties, and celebrations can be challenging when your child can't safely eat what everyone else is having. Unrefined Bakery has truly been a lifesaver for our family. Whether it's cupcakes, cookies, or other special treats, we've always been able to stop by and pick up something safe so she never feels left out. Her absolute favorite is the vegan chocolate cupcake. These days, one of our favorite traditions is stopping by on Fridays so she can get her grilled turkey and vegan cheese sandwich. It's one of the few places where she can order food and feel like she's eating out just like everyone else. Beyond the food, the people are what keep us coming back. Over the years we've had wonderful experiences with Elissa, Emory, Riley, Aniya, and manager KC. Everyone has always been friendly, helpful, and understanding of the importance of food allergies. For families dealing with allergies, finding a place you can trust is priceless. Unrefined Bakery has been that place for us for years, and we are incredibly grateful for everything they do.

Bakery focusing on vegan/dairy-free/etc options. Front case filled with cupcakes and cookies, offers a lot of frozen muffins and cakes for purchase. Small sitting area (about six chairs). It’s more bakery than cafe. Good for take-out orders. Note that all items are not vegan/dairy-free/etc, be sure to look at the labels for verification. No prices on most products; we had to ask how much stuff cost.

The idea of gluten free is nice, but I think the execution is lacking. Ordered a cake, with a happy birthday writing on it. What I got was less than neat writing that's off-centre, and looks like it's scribbled in a hurry. Cake's taste also so-so, bordering dry.

Carrot cake and keto chocolate cake are absolutely delicious. I bought them as a birthday gift for my husband, and he loved them so much

I can't believe this cupcake is vegan and gluten-free! So moist and delicious. Pleasantly surprised to find a number of vegan cupcakes to choose from - from strawberry to churro to chocolate. The woman working the front counter made sure to ask about any additional dietary restrictions, which I appreciated! Very satisfying for my sweet craving.
