I just returned from Wilderness Travel’s Royal Rajasthan trip, and I cannot recommend this company highly enough. From start to finish, this was one of the most beautifully curated travel experiences I’ve ever had. The experience truly felt Royal in every aspect — befitting to the Royal history and locations we visited. The hotels were exceptional—each with its own unique grandeur, rich history, and a consistently high level of comfort and service. Upon returning home, I joked that I felt like a royal princess throughout the travels! The itinerary was exceptional—thoughtfully paced and filled with moments that felt truly magical. Wilderness Travel truly understands how to balance iconic highlights with authentic local encounters. Our trip leader, Devendra, was extraordinary—knowledgeable, organized, and attentive to every detail. I was highly impressed by his unlimited knowledge and well-read perspectives. Our trip leader and the local guides brought India’s history, culture, and traditions to life in ways that made the journey deeply meaningful. I also have to give special credit to our driver, Mr. Bobby, whose skill, calm demeanor, and fun presence made navigating India’s lively roads feel both effortless and safe. Wilderness Travel exceeded my expectations in every way—exceptional planning, seamless logistics, fantastic leadership, and immersive cultural experiences. If you’re considering traveling with them, especially on the Royal Rajasthan journey, go for it. It is an unforgettable adventure and one of the most rewarding trips I’ve taken. Make sure to have plenty of room in your suitcase to bring home all the beautiful goods you will encounter. I had to purchase an extra suitcase during my travels, and my trip leader went out of his way to assist and roll my brand new suitcase through the busy streets of Jodhpur! A wonderful and unforgettable trip of a lifetime!

I traveled with Wilderness Travel to Raja Ampat for a snorkeling trip on board the traditional Indonesian schooner Shakti. Everything about the trip was wonderful. WT does a great job helping with all of the pre trip planning and once on board the boat the experience was delightful. The boat is very comfortable without being ostentatious. The crew were terrific; each so capable and efficient, personable and clearly enjoying their work and eager to make sure each guest was taken care of. Robert, the dive master was just that; a master. His personality is a ray of sunshine and his grace and ease in the water were readily apparent as he went to great lengths to make sure each of us had the best snorkeling experience possible. Last but not least; Andrea our trip leader. I cannot say enough of how much I enjoyed having her as our guide and leader. Her love for Raja Ampat and the wonders of the underwater world is palpable. She was the perfect combination of competence and flexibility. She is a very good teacher and shared her extensive knowledge of the coral reef environment with enthusiasm. I can recommend this trip without any hesitation.

Everest Lodge to Lodge - a magnificent experience. The Himalaya are really impossible to describe with words, and photos only hint. Nevertheless I've attached a few. This exceptionally well run trek offered by Wilderness Travel was extremely strenuous but worth it. You DO need to be/get into very good shape for the hiking. Typically 2000-3500 ft gain climbing per day, steep and more than half over 12,000 ft. The hike to Ama Dablam base camp, at over 15,000 ft. is the hardest, but several other days are a close second. All that said, I did the trip at 71 years of age with no mishaps. Our guide Bala had a lifetime of knowledge of the mountains and runs the hikes with great skill. The hike is bookended by days in Kathmandu, which I found fascinating. All in all - my favorite adventure of 71 years, and I've done lots of travel and hiking. DO IT!

We took a trip to the North Island of New Zealand in February 2026 that included, among other activities, a week with Wilderness Travel's Hidden Treasures of the Far North. WT generally focuses on hiking, which this trip definitely does. We also had a couple of wonderful boat trips, found some cool shopping and cultural experiences, ate very well and stayed at lovely, special lodgings. Wilderness Travel guides are the best, really know and love their homes. This was our 6th or 7th trip with Wilderness Travel. They never disappoint and always show the best and treat travelers better than anyone really deserves to be treated!

My recent trip to Costa Rica with Wilderness Travel did not disappoint. Molly, who assisted with the booking process was responsive and shared details that helped us prepare for our adventure. Federico Alban, our guide was amazing. He personalized our tour by sharing local spots that gave us an appreciation for the food, the culture and the beauty of land. I look forward to going back to this wonderful country. This is my third vacation through Wilderness Travel and they have always provided exceptional services and guides.
