Artisan Boulanger Patissier is a neighborhood bakery on Mifflin Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, at 1218 Mifflin St, Philadelphia, PA 19148. It brings together French-style pastries and Vietnamese favorites, with customer reviews highlighting croissants, house-made bánh mì bread, and Vietnamese iced coffee. Whether you are looking for a fresh pastry, a breakfast sandwich, or a coffee break, this South Philadelphia stop offers several reasons to make a visit part of your day.

Croissants are a standout. Reviewers call out the almond croissant for its generous, substantial filling, while the blueberry and cheese croissant is another favorite. Chocolate croissants also earn praise for their flavor. Customers describe the pastries as fresh, and reviews specifically note that the bakery makes its croissants in house. These options suit a leisurely morning treat, a quick pick-me-up, or a pastry to share with someone exploring the neighborhood.

For something savory, customers recommend the ham breakfast sandwich and bánh mì made with bread baked in house. That combination makes Artisan Boulanger Patissier a useful choice when you want more than a sweet pastry. Vietnamese iced coffee is another frequently mentioned order, appreciated as a cool companion to breakfast or an afternoon snack. The coffee is prepared in advance, so customers who prefer to adjust the condensed milk should know that the sweetness cannot be customized according to one review.

The setting is described by customers as small, and some mention that it can get loud when busy. Reviews also reflect different experiences with service, so a visit may feel more bustling than quiet. The bakery has a 4.8 rating from 463 reviews, with many customers praising the pastries, coffee, and friendly interactions. As with any neighborhood spot, experiences can vary; the specific details shared by reviewers can help you decide what to order and when to visit.

Artisan Boulanger Patissier is open Wednesday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.; it is closed Monday and Tuesday. Its hours make it a daytime destination for breakfast, brunch, or a pastry stop rather than an evening bakery. For Philadelphia residents and visitors alike, the appeal is the mix of house-made croissants, bánh mì bread, breakfast sandwiches, and Vietnamese iced coffee in one compact neighborhood bakery. Oh my god. These croissants are probably the best thing I’ve ever had in my entire life on this earth. The almond croissant is one packed dense beauty, and has quite frankly ruined every other existing almond croissant out here in Philly. I’ve probably had every almond croissant in the city and nothing comes remotely close to Artisan’s. The chocolate almond croissant is really special just like Miss Amanda here, a lovely woman with a good heart. Not only are the sweet treats a delight, but they make a filthy mean breakfast sandwich They treat the customers like family and cook with love. Safe to say I’ll keep coming back to try them all 🖤

Pastries are great so is coffee but the lady in cashier has an attitude. You order first and then pay. Lady in cashier delivered my ordered saying I owned her money cause I didn't tell her my order correctly and just dropped my food on another random table. Place is small and gets pretty loud.

Absolutely delicious and I will be adding this to places I need to take out of towners to. Artisan Boulanger makes their banh mi breads and croissants in house. They smell and taste fresh. I also recommend the Vietnamese iced coffee. It is pre-prepped, so you cannot adjust the condensed milk amount. But it did not disappoint! I was afraid it was going to be too sweet and lose the coffee flavor, but they added just the right amount. This is a small owned business and the owners here are sweet & build a community around their shop. There are a couple tables inside, but you cannot also take it to passyunk and sit on the benches

We love coming here! The blueberry & cheese croissant is my favorite treat, and the ham breakfast sandwich is also delicious. The Vietnamese iced coffee is perfect to cool off with. Lovely owner, she is always so pleasant to chat with and …

I got a chocolate croissant and it was $4 and great and the worker gave me a cup of water when I asked. Unfortunately I can’t look past a couple sins so I’m dropping a 4 star instead of a 5 star review: 1. This place is cash only, but it is almost impossible to tell until you’ve already ordered and are going to pay. Size 24 font on a piece of paper at the register area, and on one of the windows front windows in similarly tiny font on a little piece of paper. 2. Prices are not put next to items on the menu on the wall, and I didn’t see another place to look at the menu though they may have paper menus somewhere. This ones simple for me, I want price transparency so I know how much I’m paying for what. Sins being laid out, I’d still definitely go back. I want to try a croissant sandwich, they looked amazing, and now I’ll be prepared for cash only
