Sign in to reviewDefinitely the biggest Asian grocery store in San Antonio, and will more than likely have what you may be looking for. It's a little disorganized and not as charming as some of the other local spots but I've been going for a couple years and it's always about the same and reliable with stock. Always double check prices as it does seem to not always be labeled on the shelves properly. They sell plants seasonally and have a nice fresh bread selection by the register and some snacks.
There is a good vietnamese - chinese fusion kinda restaurant inside the asia supermarket that serve very delicious and fresh pho.. the lady behind the register was super nice, even she tried to sell me more2 food but still nice and friendly. I tried their chicken pho, with lot of big chuncks of chicken. Love it.
This is an exceptional full-service Asian grocery store that is clean, well-stocked, and has helpful staff in all areas. It was very impressive.
I looovvveee this place! I find all Asian products, ice creams , sauces , wines, cooked food . So yummy.
Horrible Experience at Asia Supermarket – Price Scamming at Its Worst! I’ve never been so frustrated with a store in my life. Asia Supermarket in San Antonio is a complete scam when it comes to pricing, and I’ll never be returning again. Here’s what happened: I picked up a tin container of sesame oil, clearly marked on the shelf at $19.99. When I got to the register, the cashier rang it up for $22.99. Naturally, I pointed this out and asked for the price to be corrected. That’s when things went from bad to worse. I asked the cashier to get the manager, and when she arrived (pictured here), her response was completely unprofessional and dishonest. She insisted that they charge whatever the register rings up, not what’s listed on the shelf. So basically, the price on the shelf means nothing. She then tried to blame someone else for allegedly moving the item under the wrong price, despite there being at least 12 other tin containers of the same product in the same spot. I tried to explain that they’re supposed to honor the listed price, but she was rude and unapologetic. She said she wouldn’t be changing the price and basically told me if I didn’t like it, I could leave the store without the product. To top it off, when I said I’d be leaving a negative review, she literally said, “Go ahead.” No care, no customer service, and no integrity. That wasn’t even the worst part. As I was browsing, I noticed a disturbing number of items on the shelves that were expired—some just months ago, others years past their sell-by dates. So not only can you not trust the prices on the shelves, but you also can’t trust the freshness of the products. This is beyond unacceptable. I buy based on price and quality, and when I can’t trust a store to honor the prices they advertise, or to sell me fresh, safe products, I’m done. There are plenty of other Asian markets in the San Antonio and Austin areas, so no big loss for me. I will never shop here again, and I strongly advise anyone else to avoid it unless you want to be SCAMMED, treated TERRIBLY, and risk buying EXPIRED goods.
