Sign in to reviewI had one of the most frustrating grocery shopping experiences of my life at Super King Markets, and honestly, it completely ruined what should have been a simple trip to buy groceries. From the moment I walked in, the store felt chaotic and poorly managed. There were plenty of checkout lanes physically open and available, but somehow almost none of them had cashiers. I stood there staring at a whole row of registers, lights on, belts ready, yet barely any employees actually working them. The line for the few lanes that were open stretched ridiculously long. Customers were standing around confused, trying to figure out which lane might open next. It felt like the store had the capacity to run smoothly but simply chose not to. What made the situation even worse was the attitude of the staff. When customers politely asked if another lane could open, the responses were either dismissive or downright rude. Instead of helping or acknowledging the problem, some employees acted like customers were inconveniencing them by simply asking a basic question. There was absolutely no sense of urgency, no apology, and no attempt to improve the situation. At one point, several registers were literally empty with nobody standing behind them while customers continued waiting in line. It was unbelievable. Watching people stand in line for long periods while multiple checkout stations sat unused felt like a perfect example of poor management and lack of customer respect. The overall atmosphere felt disorganized and unpleasant. Shopping already takes time out of your day, but waiting forever just to pay because the store refuses to staff their registers properly is unacceptable. It sends the message that customers’ time simply does not matter. To make matters worse, when I finally got to the register after waiting far longer than necessary, the interaction was cold and unfriendly. No greeting, no acknowledgment of the long wait, nothing. It felt like customers were just a burden rather than the reason the store exists. A grocery store should focus on efficiency and customer service. When you see many checkout lanes sitting empty while customers pile up in long lines, it’s obvious something is seriously wrong with how the store is being run. There are plenty of grocery stores in the area that manage to treat customers with respect and keep their checkout lines moving. Unfortunately, this location clearly doesn’t prioritize either. Until management addresses the rude customer service and the constant problem of open lanes with no cashiers, this will probably be the last time I shop here. No one wants to spend their time waiting in unnecessary lines while employees act like helping customers is optional.
I'm so happy to have found such a great item at such a low price. Thank you!
I visited the Super King on MacArthur today and had a pretty frustrating experience. First, there was no fresh dill available at all, even though another location on Magnolia always has it. That was inconvenient because I specifically needed dill. On top of that, there was a constant alarm beeping near the entrance, and it kept going off nonstop. Sometimes it was one long beep, sometimes multiple beeps, and it was really unbearable to listen to. I couldn’t even stay in the produce and dried fruit section because of that noise. The employees just had to put up with it all day, which seems really unfair to them too. Also, the way they placed the dried fruits was super inconvenient. You had to bend down awkwardly to scoop them out, and they kept falling on the floor. There was no proper way to hold the bag and get the dried fruit without making a mess. It’s much better organized in the other branch, and here it just felt like they didn’t care about customer convenience at all. Overall, the experience was frustrating. Prices have also gone up a lot even though gas prices have dropped, and it just feels like this store is not as customer-friendly as it used to be. I hope they take this feedback seriously, because I’m really considering not coming back to this location.
Great store with a really wide selection and good prices. Everything is easy to find and well stocked. The produce looked fresh and the shelves were full of interesting items. Checkout was quick and smooth too.
