Bubble tea is at the heart of the AUSTEA experience. Customers often note that the drinks are fresh, flavorful, and well balanced rather than overly sweet. The tapioca pearls receive particular praise for their soft, chewy texture. Sign in to reviewI absolutely love Austea! It's my regular spot to visit with family whenever we want to relax and enjoy good food. The staff are always incredibly kind and welcoming, and the food quality is consistently excellent. The Cajun fries are a must-try—crispy, fresh, flavorful, and easily one of my favorite items on the menu. On my last visit, I ordered a boba tea with 50% sugar. It turned out to be a bit too strong for my taste because of my own mistake while ordering. Even though I had already finished about 20% of the drink, the staff kindly made me a fresh one without hesitation. That level of customer service really stood out to me. Great food, amazing service, and a wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommended—definitely a must-visit in Austin! ❤️🍟🧋
Stopped in for a quick caffeine drink and snack. Reasonable prices. Super clean and very friendly staff. Taiyaki made fresh after you order, your warning to allow time to be made it is WORTH it. Mocha coffee was great!
The Meat Lover Banh Mi ($7.95) tasted like your typical Vietnamese sandwich but would have been better with pate. Still good enough to satisfy a craving. The Boneless Combo ($14.99) comes with a box of boneless chicken and a box of fries and is worth it. I chose the housemade special sauce but didn't really like it. The fries were okay too. I would still give it another try with a different flavor. The Galaxy Kumquat Fresh Fruit Tea ($6.50) with lychee jelly ($0.75) we got at half ice and 75% sweet which was perfect for the evening. On a hotter day I would go full ice. The lychee jelly paired really well with the fruit tea and made for a nice refreshing drink with dinner. The Ube Matcha Milk Tea ($7.25) with crystal boba ($0.75) I ordered with no ice since I was saving it for the next day and it was still pretty full. I did 75% sweet which was perfect for this drink. You can't choose your milk so I'm not sure what they use. By the time it was delivered the two layers were already mixed so it looked more like a straight ube milk tea, and I didn't really taste the matcha either. Still really delicious though and the crystal boba added a nice chewy texture.
I recently ordered the lychee tea along with one of their combo meals, which included boneless wings, a matcha ube drink, and fries. The lychee tea was refreshing and lightly sweet, with a fragrant fruity flavor that wasn’t overpowering. It was crisp and easy to drink, making it a great choice if you want something refreshing. The matcha ube drink in the combo was a pleasant surprise—creamy, smooth, and nicely balanced, with the earthiness of matcha pairing well with the subtle sweetness of ube. The boneless wings were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, and they paired perfectly with the hot, freshly made fries. Everything came out hot and well-prepared, which made the combo feel like a great value for both food and drinks. The vibe at AUSTEA is relaxed and modern, and it’s a great place to catch up with friends or take a break while exploring Austin. Service was friendly and efficient.
I’m a recurring customer here in Austin, and AUSTEA has quickly become one of my go-to bubble tea spots. Every visit has been consistently great. The drinks are always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced — not overly sweet like some places. The tapioca pearls are soft and chewy, exactly how they should be. The staff are welcoming and patient, and they’re always happy to offer recommendations if you’re trying something new. You can tell they genuinely care about quality and customer experience. The shop itself is clean, well organized, and has a great vibe. You know it’s good when there are always people inside relaxing and enjoying their drinks — it really adds to the atmosphere. I’ll definitely keep coming back and would highly recommend AUSTEA to anyone in Austin who loves great bubble tea.
