Tire problems rarely arrive at a convenient time. Customer experiences describe visits for a small nail causing a persistent slow leak, a tire damaged through the sidewall, and a flat after hitting a pothole in heavy rain. In one review, a driver who had been told elsewhere that a tire needed replacement came to AVN for a second opinion; the team identified a tiny nail, removed the tire from the rim, and completed a patch. When damage cannot safely be repaired, such as a sidewall issue, customers note that the shop discusses tire options and can help source an OEM tire when it is not immediately available.
The name AVN Tires & Alignments reflects a focus on tires and alignments, making it a relevant stop for drivers who notice uneven wear, vibration, handling changes, or need a tire inspected after road damage. Reviews also reference wheel swaps, balancing concerns, and work involving aftermarket wheels, underscoring the kinds of details vehicle owners may want to discuss directly with the shop before service begins. For the best outcome, drivers can clearly share their vehicle setup, requested parts, and any symptoms they are experiencing, especially when wheels or fitment components require particular attention.
Open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, this Alameda tire shop offers weekday and limited Saturday availability for local residents, commuters, and anyone dealing with an unexpected tire issue. AVN Tires & Alignments is a practical choice for people who value a second opinion on a repair, need guidance after a flat, or are looking to address tire and alignment needs close to home in Alameda, CA. The shop is closed on Sundays.

Sign in to reviewDespite Ferraris and other nice cars these people don’t know what they’re doing. They swapped my winter wheels to summer and didn’t put in the provided hub centric rings and put the wheel weights on the outside of the barrel of the rim. After driving I came back and they said both were not a big deal. You should decide before you come here
Dealing with a slow leak in one of my tires forced me to air it up every three days. I took it to a different shop first, and they told me I needed a whole new tire because the hole couldn't be fixed. I came to AVN for a second opinion, and they found a tiny nail, took the tire off the rim, patched it from the inside, and put it all back together for a fraction of the cost. It has been two weeks and the tire hasn't lost a single pound of air. Just good people doing great work.
Went in for a blown tire. They showed me it was damaged through the sidewall which called for a new tire. They offered some options and suggestions, ended up requesting the OEM tire but it wasn't in stock. They said it would take around an hour for them to get the tire so I left my car to go get some coffee and sit around the corner. Around 40 minutes went by when I got the notification that my car was ready. These guys are great.
Hitting a hidden pothole in the rain is the worst feeling. I was driving home from work in a heavy rainstorm, and the impact was so hard my teeth rattled. My tire immediately went flat. I pulled over and realized I had severely bent the rim on my nice aftermarket wheels. I was so upset, thinking I was going to have to buy a whole new expensive wheel and wait weeks for it to ship. I managed to put the spare tire on and limped the car to AVN the next morning. I walked in feeling completely defeated, carrying my busted wheel. The guys took it straight to the back to inspect it. After a few minutes, they came out with some great news. While the lip of the rim was bent, the actual barrel was still structurally sound, and the tire itself hadn't burst. They told me they couldn't perfectly unbend the lip, but they could use a heavy mallet to get it close, and then use their special balancing machine to make it drive smooth again. I told them to go for it. I watched as they carefully reshaped the edge of the rim just enough so the tire would hold a safe seal. Then they put it on the road force balancer and moved the tire around on the rim until the heavy spots canceled each other out. They put it back on my car and told me to take it for a spin on the highway. I could not believe it. The car drove completely smooth, without a single vibration or shake. They took a wheel that I thought was total garbage and made it perfectly usable again.
I bought tires from here and they were NO good! The tires were more than 3 yrs old, which had been sitting, and they were warped and uneven. I told the guys at the shop about the tires, the ride was very shaky, unbalanced, and my car constantly vibrated over 60 mph. I took the car back, they added weights to the wheel, which wasn't needed. I ended up taking the car somewhere else, they told me the car didn't need the extra weights, I was given a full set of BAD tires! I replaced my tires elsewhere, and my car now drives smooth again. The guys tried to accommodate, but never mentioned the tires were old, never offered to switch out the tires. I ended up paying double In the end due to the poor tires I received from AVN Tires. I absolutely bought tires from AVN in Alameda! The 1st time I took the tires back and me toned there was an issue, I was told there was nothing wrong with the tire and to drive it around for a few days. Brought the car back a few days later, was told that the tire collaborating machine wasn't working properly, last trip back, weight was added to my tire, which didn't fix the problem! I took my car to another tire shop, said the weight applied to the tire was unnecessary, and the tires I was sold from AVN were warped tires. The other tire place replaced my tires, and the problem was resolved! The tires from AVN were NO good, and an offer of a replacement nor a refund was given! I wasted a lot of money and time troubleshooting bad tires! Cheaper isn't always the best..NEVER AGAIN
