Bakery Four is a neighborhood bakery on Tennyson Street in Denver, Colorado, at 4150 Tennyson St, Denver, CO 80212. Open Wednesday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., it gives early risers, nearby residents, and visitors a place to pick up pastries, bread, coffee, and something savory. The bakery is closed Monday and Tuesday, so it is worth checking the schedule before planning a visit. With a 4.8-star rating across 1,288 reviews, Bakery Four has earned a strong local following, and customers often describe it as a destination they are glad to share with out-of-town friends and family.

The menu brings together sweet and savory choices, with favorites that include chocolate chip cookies, almond croissants, cardamom buns, and the pop-four, a homemade Pop-Tart-style pastry whose flavor changes. That rotating detail gives repeat visitors a reason to see what is available, while familiar options make it easy to choose a treat for the road. Reviewers also praise the fresh baguette and the balance of the pastry selection, which can suit different cravings in one stop. Because items may sell out as the day goes on, arriving earlier can give you more choices; one visitor arriving an hour before closing found that many pastries were already gone.

For a more substantial bite, reviewers mention an Italian sandwich with fresh bread, flavorful ingredients, and a spicy aioli. One customer found it generous enough to share, making it a practical option for two people looking for lunch. Drinks noted in customer feedback include drip coffee, a latte with house-made cardamom or brown sugar syrup, hibiscus iced tea with honey, and blueberry matcha. Visitors appreciate the coffee alongside a pastry, and one reviewer especially enjoyed having a drink in a mug when staying in. These details make Bakery Four a comfortable pick for a quick coffee and treat, a casual lunch, or a relaxed stop during a walk along Tennyson Street.

Expect a popular neighborhood spot rather than a guaranteed grab-and-go with no wait: customers report that a line can form, but many say the pastries and sandwiches are worth it. The approachable mix of rotating sweets, classic bakery favorites, coffee, and savory food makes Bakery Four suitable for a first visit with guests as well as a repeat stop for locals. Check the Wednesday-to-Sunday morning hours, arrive with a little time, and choose from what is fresh and available that day. Whether you are after a cardamom bun, a changing pop-four, a baguette, or an Italian sandwich, this Denver bakery offers several ways to make a morning visit feel worthwhile.

The italian sandwich was one of the best sandwiches i’ve ever had! The bread was fresh and all the ingredients were flavorful. The aioli on it was fantastic, the perfect balance of spice. One sandwich can definitely feed two people. I also got the hibiscus iced tea with honey, and an almond croissant. Almond croissants are probably my favorite pastry ever and this one did not disappoint. It has tons of filling and the croissant was baked perfectly. This place is definitely worth going to and I will 100% be coming back here the next time i’m in the Denver area!

Bakery Four is my favorite place to take out-of-town friends and family. Even something as simple as the chocolate chip cookie is the best chocolate chip cookie I have ever had. The pop-four (like a homemade Pop-tart) is my go-to order due to the flavor always changing. The line can get long but it’s always worth the wait and never disappoints.

Arrived an hour before closing so a lot of the pastries were out, but they still had cardamom buns! I got a drip to go with it and it was delicious! Excellent drip! Medium to light roast was described but it tasted like a light roast, with all its notes 🤌 my daughter got a blueberry matcha and a chai scone. The scone was dry, won’t get it again, but the cardamom bun and coffee were 👌 also very friendly staff!

Bakery four is the best bakery I have ever been to. The options are perfect ratios of sweet and savory, where you can find something no matter your craving. There is always a line no matter the day or time but it is totally worth it and …

First time visiting. We saw someone down Tennyson walking with a baguette with some bite marks on it so we had to go visit. The latte syrups are delicious (cardamom and brown sugar-plus made in house) and their for here cups are awesome-something about drinking out of a mug. The young man cashier who just started his first day gave awesome service, plus he laughed at my husband’s dad jokes. Totally give him a 10 out of five. The young man’s service not the dad jokes.
