Baoding Restaurant

Driving from Florida to Pennsylvania on 77 through Charlotte. I went out of my way because the AI said this is a good restaurant and they had what I was looking for - hot crispy beef. This is a dish I learned to love in the Washington DC area but is very hard to find outside that area. I ordered it with brown rice , extra spicy. I am very glad I came! The dish was delicious. The atmosphere was good, the service was very fast. I will come out of my way again to try some other things. I wish I lived near this restaurant. If you like hot crispy beef come here, and I think from seeing the other dishes and the reviews they have many more great offerings.

Great restaurant. Had lunch her with the family. Reasonably priced, the service was fast and the food was super delicious. I usually get the Hot and Sour to see how well the rest of the food will be. It didn't disappoint, the soup was favorable and was a good predictor for the rest of the meal. We'll definitely be back.

Honestly, I don’t understand how this was that 4.5 stars the chicken was fresh very fresh and tender, but that was the best part of the meal. The sauce was mediocre. I didn’t have a lot of flavor to be honest and it was a really spicy as I wanted to be that dash of hot mustard and the sweet-and-sour sauce was completely unnecessary. It shot straight up my nose and as a person who love spice and ginger, it was just severely overpowering like it almost brought tears to my eyes. Also, there wasn’t enough protein on the plate for $16 lunch portion just spreading things over a thin wide plate does not equal more food. The portion was OK, but honestly, it was more peanuts and bell peppers than anything and the rice was super dry and the eggroll the cabbage was way too undercooked and underseasoned for my liking the crunch on the shell was nice though. The wait staff was very nice! My food did come out very fast. I was brought my check before I take out box which honestly I don’t even know why I decided to get a takeout box. There is nothing that sauce, peanuts and bell peppers on the plate.I feel like the prices aren’t justified. I literally had three pieces of chicken total and not full-size pieces like it seemed like one chicken tender, was chopped into teeny tiny pieces, and then one big chunk on the plate. The atmosphere was OK looking it was under the sea, but not as magical

Attentive service and generous portions, we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Baoding in South Park. We had the scallops, Hunan chicken, general tsao, and Thai curry. Highly recommend the scallops as they were cooked to perfection!
