If you are looking for a dessert stop in Irvine, CA, Beard Papa's - Irvine is a bakery known for its cream puffs, eclairs, and other sweet treats that are easy to enjoy any day of the week. Located on Culver Drive, this shop is a convenient option for locals, students, office workers, and families who want something light, creamy, and satisfying without a full sit-down dessert experience. With hours from late morning through evening every day, and extended hours on Friday and Saturday, it fits well for an afternoon snack, an after-dinner treat, or a quick pickup on the way home.

What brings many people to Beard Papa's - Irvine is its specialty in cream puffs. Customer feedback often highlights the appeal of the pastry itself: light, airy shells paired with cream that many describe as flavorful and not overly sweet. For people who prefer desserts that feel delicate rather than heavy, that balance can be a big part of the draw. Reviews also mention items like the Oreo Crumbled Eclair, mini puffs, mango sorbet, and boba tea, showing that this Irvine bakery offers more than one kind of sweet option. Whether you are in the mood for a classic cream-filled pastry or a colder, fruitier dessert, there is enough variety to make it worth considering.

The atmosphere described by customers leans cute, cozy, and casual, making it a comfortable place for a quick stop. Friendly staff and helpful ingredient knowledge have also stood out in reviews, especially for guests with dietary concerns such as being lactose free. That kind of straightforward service can matter just as much as the dessert itself, especially when you are choosing treats for a group with different preferences. Packaging and presentation have also been praised in takeout and delivery orders, which is useful if you are planning to bring dessert to the office, a family gathering, or a relaxed night at home.

As with many popular dessert shops, experiences can vary. Some customers feel the pastries are a fun indulgence and appreciate the freshness and presentation, while others mention concerns about value or consistency in the cream filling. That kind of feedback helps set expectations: this is a place people often visit for a specialty sweet treat rather than an everyday bargain stop. If you are exploring dessert spots in Irvine, California, Beard Papa's - Irvine stands out for its focus on cream puffs, approachable atmosphere, and convenient location. For anyone searching for a bakery in Irvine for pastries, eclairs, sorbet, or a simple treat to share, it is a local option worth knowing about.

This was a Doordash Order, so I had no interactions with the staff at the shop! The order was ready to be picked up really quick. It was packaged well and organized. Presentation of the food was also good. The pastries looked appealing. My wife really liked the Oreo Crumbled Eclair, she loves the taste and texture of the pastry. I had the Churro Shell, I think the pastry was good, it wasn’t to die for, but it was good. The pastries were not overwhelmingly sweet, that is a good thing, they had a good balanced of sweetness! I would recommend this place if you are around the area and want a small sweet bite.

Cute place! Cozy atmosphere! Friendly staff and informed on the ingredients, since I’m lactose free. The mango sorbet was delish and the boba tea was wonderful too!

I've never been to a place where their specialty is cream puffs, and let me say, this place is a delight. The cream puffs are made in house and so is the cream. Not only is the pastry light and airy, but the cream was excellent and not too sweet. So many pastry creams are laden with sugar that it's hard to enjoy. Beard Papa's also sells mochi, gelato, coffee, teas, milk snow and other tasty treats. I especially enjoyed the coconut pudding by Kokonut with fresh mango (see another post if you want to know more about this company). This place is worth a revisit to try more.

Overpriced at $4+ for 1 cream puff. Change filling or topping and prices go up. Paid $26 before tip for 6 plus 1 free. Vanilla cream can thicker so it doesn't drip everywhere after the first bite.

I want to love this place, but they’re very stingy on the cream inside the puffs. My favorite are the mini puffs because they’re easier to bite. This is the THIRD time I’ve gotten them with almost zero cream. When I lift up the puffs it feels like an empty shell and sure enough there’s not really anything in there. This has only happened within the last three months. Maybe they hired new people who don’t know how to fill the cream puffs, but it’s been a disappointment each time I’ve gone since October 2024. I had to add a picture to show what I mean. Besides that small dollop of cream you see, there was nothing else. The first bite was just shell and the end piece was just shell.
