Therapeutic and deep tissue massage are among the services guests mention. Reviews describe sessions focused on the neck, trapezius, back, shoulder, and arm, with therapists responding to concerns such as tightness, discomfort, or tension after travel, exercise, and repetitive work. Guests have praised therapists including Natalie, Mirna, and Danielle for listening and tailoring care to the areas they wanted addressed. The atmosphere reflected in guest comments centers on care and comfort rather than a one-size-fits-all routine. Visitors mention feeling at ease, being listened to, and receiving attention to specific areas of concern. Some reviewers return when visiting Boston for work, while others describe coming in after gym-related or work-related strain. These accounts suggest Bodywaves may be worth considering if you want to discuss your needs and find a session shaped around them; they do not guarantee a particular result, and the right approach depends on your preferences and circumstances.

Booked the 90 minute non-member session for $220 and left disappointed. I’ve had therapeutic massages from people who know every muscle in the upper back and how to release them. They bend your arm behind your back to get at the rhomboids and work the spots that actually hold tension. None of that happened here. It felt like she had no idea where the different muscles were and was just oiling and rubbing the skin, like someone moisturizing you instead of doing a targeted muscle massage. It honestly felt like someone who had never done a therapeutic massage before. I filled out the intake form and circled my problem areas, but there was no conversation about pressure, injuries, or goals beyond that. Early on her clothing kept catching and yanking my hair. I offered to tie it tighter and she said no and tried to work around it, but I still felt her lower body pressing against my head at points, which was uncomfortable. When I gave her feedback that it didn’t feel like she was targeting the muscles, she said she was just getting started and then went in with her elbow, which gave me less release than I get from my foam roller at home. There was no music and I could hear the market downstairs the whole time. The massage ranabout 10 minutes short of the 90 I paid for. If this was $50 an hour it would have been fine. At $220 for someone who doesn’t know where the muscles are, it was a waste of time and money. I don’t recommend this place at this price point.
Natalie was excellent. She made me feel comfortable from the moment I arrived and even kept me cool on one of the hottest days of the month. She did a great job relieving tension in my neck and trapezius muscles and significantly reduced the discomfort around my golfer’s elbow. She also helped ease some lingering shoulder pain from a work-related injury.Since most of my discomfort was in my upper body, Natalie focused much of the session there while still providing a thorough massage of my back, hips, legs, and feet. I left feeling noticeably more relaxed and with much less pain. I would highly recommend her.
My partner and I had been looking for a place to do a kind of “crash course how to” massage at home for each other and the workshop at Bodywaves was exactly what we were looking for - so perfect! Jesse was friendly, professional, and gave …
Whenever I’m in Boston for a business trip, I book a session here. My God, this place is a lifesaver! My back is usually screaming at me after sitting on a plane for hours, and Mirna has been absolutely amazing every single time. She is incredibly attentive and genuinely cares about making sure you’re comfortable. I always leave feeling like a completely different person, and the best part is that I continue feeling amazing for weeks afterward. My only complaint is that they don’t have an office near my house because I would seriously be there every week. I absolutely adore this place! ❤️❤️❤️
Danielle gave the most therapeutic, deep tissue massage. I was having tightness and some neck pain/headaches from a gym “injury” as well as overuse from using that arm/shoulder as my job as a pharmacist. She listened to me, tailored my …
