We came on a Sunday morning for breakfast. Grabbed two Ca Phe Sua Da, which were just flavored right and strong. Ordered the Banh Mi Heo Nuong (Grilled Pork), super fresh and tasty, the bbq flavor was amazing. Prices are reasonable, we’ll definitely be back!
Catering recently for my company. Everyone loved it!!! Buy 5 get 1 free also. Cheap price compare with locals shop but food quality is top tier. I personally got the pork belly, best in town.
As a big banh mi fan, I was very happy to find out that this place was replacing a Pizza Hut that has closed, right by my house. Finally made it here yesterday, and ordered the pork belly sandwich, which was pretty good, although could have used some more jalapenos. I'll have to remember that for next time. The service was friendly and the staff was happy, celebrating a goal during a soccer game that was on in the background. They have a pretty good variety on their menu, and I'm looking forward to coming back and trying more. Update: Apparently Saturday mornings are very busy with multiple people ordering multiple sandwiches to go Just something to note if you plan on stopping in for a quick sandwich. Nice meat department next door at the Mexican market while you're waiting...
The world has become such an interesting place. Things that were once far apart have moved closer together, like the ingredients for some cheesecake wonder that sat on separate shelves, in pantries and refrigerators, but have now melded into layers and swirls of color, flavor, and culture. All of those things were fine on their own, pristine in their oneness, ripe with potential. But the world has changed, despite the evil of little minds full of fear. In my youth, as a traveler cast adrift in the world, living as an expatriate so far away that family seemed almost a thing of the past, it took a lot to get to new foods and new ideas. It took a chunk of your life, a commitment to step away from it, like the novitiate who goes into the forest in search of something. But that has changed. The world has grown smaller even as our ideas and understanding have grown larger. America, and I believe most countries, have begun to be many things at once. You can see that in food, in the simplest and most basic way. The truck driver and the cop, the teacher and the student, all stop for a moment to eat what can be recognized as good food, regardless of its origin or history. I remember when we were enemies, or at least our governments were. I remember when no one had heard of banh mi, much less tasted one. So here we are, eating one of those things whose name might sound exotic, but whose food is universal. And universal it is, a bite of something so familiar, yet so different. I remember when bagels were like that, when Szechuan food was a radical concept. This is a much more interesting world, and the food in this era is so much better. Bon Bahn Mi is the perfect example, fully planted in world soil, drawing nutrients from the earth and growing a new crop of acceptance. Yes, in my years driving trucks, I would have packed one of these for the road or picked one up on the way to the block party. If you already know, congratulations. If you don’t, you need to give it a try. It’s clean and good, and a perfect little idea that has changed the world.
Sandwich is excellent- bread fresh and meat was warm and delicious. I added pate to the pork belly and it was perfect! Egg roll was good-$1. On the top of the list with one other fave spot! Service was friendly and quick. Seating was just fine- no frills.
