Sign in to reviewThe bread is amazing. The cookies are amazing. The staff is very helpful. Even with long lines at the counter the food came out super fast. We barely sat down and they were calling our number. They are famous for clam chowder in a bread bowl, but I don’t like clams so I ordered the chili. Worst chili ever, seriously a can of a hormel would have been better. But the bread was still good. You can watch them the bread from the window on the street if you want.
Went to this place for dinner and really enjoyed the overall setup and dining experience. The first floor is split into two sections—the left side operates as a self-service restaurant while the right side is a bakery filled with fresh bakes and pastries. Upstairs on the second floor is the main restaurant dining area, which feels more relaxed and comfortable for a proper meal. I had the clam chowder served with their sourdough bread, and it never fails to impress me. The soup was rich and comforting, while the sourdough added a nice texture and flavour that paired perfectly together. Overall, a reliable spot with good food and a unique layout that makes the experience more interesting.
We came here to try the most famous boudi bread bowl with soup and we loved it. We tried the crab cheddar and Rustic tomato bowls. They were super filling. inface we couldn't finish the sandwich that came along in the combo. It was a cold windy day and the hot soup just made our day. The place was quite large and finding a table was a breeze. The ambience and service was great. Please like my review if you find it helpful.
This restaurant attracted us because we could see the sourdough bread being baked from the street. The place was busy and we were seated after a 25m wait. The bakery traces its roots to the 19th century and the historical details are plastered all over the walls in the waiting area from where one can see the bakers at work. The dining area atmosphere was very pleasant and we enjoyed the sourdough bread starters. Subsequently the food was adequate as was the service.
This place has something special. From the building location aver looking the ocean view to the museum like glass where you see the workers making fresh sourdough. Had a 40 minute wait, but I will blame that on being a holiday weekend. Lol but that wait was worth every second to have a ribeye steak sandwich that was really good, and a clam chowder that everyone visiting San Francisco has to taste. Definitely recommend to anyone visiting San Francisco for the food and the vibes.
