Found this place after arriving in the city and striking out on the three prior places I’d tried to get dinner at. I sat at the bar since I was alone and enjoyed a three course meal of papaya salad, pork dumplings and mango sticky rice. The papaya salad was delicious, although next time I’d probably get the version without the fish sauce. Dumplings were good but I don’t think I’d get them again. Mango sticky rice was yum. The best part though was the “Budsi margarita”, basically a spicy marg made with Thai chilis and garnished with holy basil. The best drink I had in NOLA and a good price too
My friend and I walked to this restaurant. The neighborhood is not amazing, in my opinion. But wow, the food is excellent. You go to the counter and order and they bring your food very quickly. We had steamed pork buns, Budsi’s noodles with …
Overall, Budsi Thai was excellent. We had a wait a few minutes in line to order (you pay up front then sit down), and the food came extremely quick ~ 10 minutes tops. Beef stir fry with egg was by far my favorite dish, super rich and creamy. Recommend getting it if you’re torn between dishes to choose from. Servers were very accommodating and friendly too!
Some of the best Thai food I’ve had. Great spice quality. The Khao Soi was amazing and the staff are friendly.
Benjamin, the bartender is the best. He's very menu knowledgeable and will steer you in the right direction as per your taste. First, the happy hour margaritas $5.00 are top notch...2-6pm every day!!! The food is fantastic!
