Seriously. SO GOOD. If I lived in San Jose, I would eat here all the time. I stopped in while visiting the area for a work conference and CA Bakehouse did not disappoint. We got so many things: • Ube + taro choux • Ube + taro croissant • Portuguese egg tarts • Pandan Green Waffle • and Pandan bread My favorites had to be a toss up between the flaky, delicious Portuguese egg tart and the perfectly filled ube + taro choux. If you've never had a choux, it's almost like an elevated cream puff. I definitely recommend coming early, they seem to run out of goods quickly. Parking can also be hard to find since CA Bakehouse is located in a busy shopping center. You order at the door and the person taking your order will hand you all of your pastries. There's not a ton of seating in the area, unless you're dining at a neighboring business, so we ate in our car. ...But I have zero regrets about those crumbs because it was worth it!

I love CA Bakehouse! Their pastries and breads are so good! I always order their kaya egg tarts, pandan milk break, pandan chiffon cake, and pandan green waffle. Definitely eat the green waffle right away because it is honestly so yum when it's warm and a bit crispy. I made the mistake of not eating all the breads quickly because they did go bad after a week. But that's how you know it's fresh! So definitely don't wait to eat all the goodies. Ordering is super simple. You either go up to the window or someone will come up to you and you can order with them. This place is super popular, so there's usually a line. I really love the asian flavors they use in their pastries. If you are in San Jose, go stop by!!

Portuguese egg tart wasn't great. Shell is not fluffy and the custard tasted like it used a lot of sweet flavoring. Missing the creamy texture and sweetness and butteryness from the milk and egg. Quite off tasting. Maybe other bake goods are better?

I liked the flavors, and the pics are very exciting. Unfortunately though I think the pastries don’t taste that great. Croissants are a bit stale and the egg tarts are not very flaky. I really like the flavors and variety though so I’d still recommend. I’ve tried black sesame choux, ube and pandan croissants, durian and pandan egg tarts, random cakes. I like the pandan variants the most.
