Cafe Viet kitchen is a Vietnamese restaurant at 525 Washington Ave in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, PA 19147). It is a neighborhood option for Vietnamese noodle dishes and familiar comfort-food flavors, with customer reviews highlighting dishes such as bún bò Huế, bún măng vịt, and hủ tiếu. The restaurant has a 4.7-star rating from 43 reviews, offering local diners a useful snapshot of its reputation while individual experiences may vary. If you are exploring Vietnamese food in Philadelphia or looking for a place to try a bowl of noodles, Cafe Viet kitchen is worth considering.
Noodle soups are among the clearest reasons customers mention returning. Reviewers describe the broth in the hủ tiếu as delicious, and one first-time diner praised a bowl of bún bò Huế for arriving hot, tasting good, and feeling like a satisfying portion. Other customers call out both bún bò Huế and bún măng vịt, with one reviewer noting generous servings. These accounts make the restaurant a natural fit for people who enjoy Vietnamese noodle dishes and want to sample more than one style. Portions may not feel the same to everyone: one guest found the hủ tiếu serving smaller than the portions they typically see in the United States.
The menu also draws interest beyond noodle soup. Customers mention bánh mì, though one review found it only average, and bánh tôm chiên, which another diner considered decent but felt would pair better with green papaya and a different sauce. These are individual opinions, not guarantees of what every guest will experience, but they offer a concrete sense of the dishes people have tried. The overall picture is a casual Vietnamese dining stop where guests can focus on familiar specialties while deciding what else to explore on the menu.
Cafe Viet kitchen has a small dining room, and reviewers say it can be busy, with tables full during their visits. That atmosphere may suit a casual meal with a friend, a quick noodle lunch, or a return visit to try another dish, though the compact space is worth keeping in mind if you prefer more room. Feedback on service is mixed: some diners describe food arriving relatively quickly, while another reports repeated service concerns. Hours are not listed in the available business information, so check current details before heading to 525 Washington Ave. For Vietnamese food in Philadelphia, Cafe Viet kitchen offers customer-recognized noodle dishes in a small, lively setting.

I recently visited this Vietnamese restaurant and had an excellent dining experience. From the moment I walked in, I could tell this place was special. The restaurant was packed with customers, and every table seemed full. It’s always a good sign when a restaurant is consistently busy, and after trying the food, I completely understood why. The food was absolutely delicious and full of authentic Vietnamese flavors. I ordered pho, and the broth was rich, aromatic, and perfectly seasoned. The meat was tender, the noodles were cooked just right, and the fresh herbs added the perfect finishing touch. Every ingredient tasted fresh and high quality. The portions were generous, and the presentation was simple but inviting. What impressed me even more was the atmosphere. Despite being busy, the restaurant felt welcoming and comfortable. Families, friends, and regular customers filled the dining room, creating a lively and enjoyable environment. The staff worked hard to keep everything running smoothly and remained friendly and attentive throughout the meal. It is not easy to find a restaurant that consistently serves great food while maintaining such a strong customer base. This place clearly has a loyal following, and it is easy to see why. The combination of authentic flavors, fresh ingredients, generous portions, and excellent service makes it stand out from many other restaurants. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Whether you are craving a comforting bowl of pho or simply want to enjoy a great meal with family and friends, this is definitely a place worth visiting. I will certainly be returning again soon!
A good spot for hủ tiếu with delicious broth. The portion is a bit smaller than the usual portion in the US. Bún mắm is mediocre. Bột chiên is okay though I'd like to eat it w green papaya; the sauce is not the best tho. Restaurant is kinda small.
Absolutely a hidden gem! Really authentic and delicious vietnamese food. I tried 2 different kinds of noodles (Bun Bo Hue and Bun Mang Viet). Both well done and huge portions!! I can see myself order again. I will go back to try other items in the menu. Fyi The place is kinda small and opening hours is short, but totally worth the trip.
I ate at this restaurant once before and thought the food was pretty good, so I decided to come back a second time. Unfortunately, the service was just as bad as the first time. …
