Capitol Heights Pharmacy & Liquor is a neighborhood drug store at 1200 Madison St in Denver, Colorado (80206). Its name reflects a mix of pharmacy and liquor retail, and customer descriptions indicate that much of the shop’s retail space is devoted to wine and liquor, with a smaller section for over-the-counter medicines. For people looking for a local pharmacy alongside other everyday retail, this combination may be useful. The listing shows a 4.6-star rating from 231 reviews; as with any business, individual experiences can differ, so customers with a specific need may want to confirm details directly before making a trip.

Pharmacy care is a central part of the customer feedback. Several reviewers describe friendly, helpful staff and personalized attention, and one customer says the team took time to discuss a health concern rather than simply filling a prescription. Another reviewer calls Capitol Heights their go-to for pharmacy needs and appreciates the staff’s assistance and the availability of needed items. These are individual accounts, not a guarantee of a particular experience or inventory, but they suggest that shoppers who value a more personal conversation may want to consider this neighborhood option. If you need a particular medication, checking availability and prescription details with the pharmacy in advance can help set clear expectations.

The store also carries over-the-counter medicines, according to a customer’s description, and one reviewer reports visiting for a step test as an alternative to going to urgent care. That account notes the test was completed quickly and avoided making two stops. Service availability can change, so it is sensible to call ahead to ask whether a test or other service is currently offered and whether an appointment or other preparation is needed. The reviews also mention seasonal specials, though the specific items and timing are not provided. Customers can ask in store what is available during their visit.

Beyond pharmacy and liquor retail, a reviewer noticed a shelf with local Colorado products, including salsa, pickles, and other specialties. That detail may appeal to shoppers interested in browsing locally made goods while visiting the store. Taken together, the customer descriptions portray Capitol Heights Pharmacy & Liquor as a small neighborhood business serving people who want prescription or over-the-counter pharmacy items, and who may also be interested in wine, liquor, seasonal specials, or Colorado products. Located on Madison Street in Denver, it is a local option to consider for nearby residents and visitors; confirm current stock and services directly, since the listing does not provide business hours.

This is my go-to spot for all my pharmacy needs! The staff is always friendly and super helpful, and I can always count on them to have what I need in stock. Plus, their seasonal specials are a nice bonus!

This is the greatest pharmacy I’ve ever used. BY FAR! The people are amazing- personalized service and sound medical advice. So happy I left Walgreens. There is not even a comparison between the two- capital heights is light- years better. Try it- you won’t regret it!

DONT BELIEVE THE REVIEWS ON HERE! My story begins with calling this poor excuse of a pharmacy to ask if they had a particular medication. Someone named Jack told me it was no problem. Went to my doctor at 3, they called in a script. I checked in to let them know I was here. First, I was told they didn’t have the entire quantity but would give me a 3 day supply and to come back Monday. No problem for me. So I wait and wait and wait and people are coming and going and there I stand. Then, Ruth comes to me and says they have none of my medication. None at all. Someone at that wacko pharmacy put in the wrong strength. So I had to call my doctor and pray it wasn’t too late (nearly 5 pm) to get a script called in to Walgreens! Downtown Denver. Parking not easy, but Walgreens made it right. I must say there is another bad review on here and most of what this reviewer said, I felt the same. You mean to tell me you are that incompetent to enter wrong info and then keep me waiting like a moron just to tell me you have no medicine. Mistakes with pharmacies can result in bad consequences. I felt the same cold vibe there. While I fully support the small business owner in general, some need to brush up on their people skills. Evidently, Iack should check his supply before assuring me it would “be all right” and don’t keep people standing there until you are bored enough to tell them you cannot help them. I don’t like leaving bad reviews as everyone has an off day, but this??? UNACCEPTABLE and a familiar glimpse at where customer service in out countryb is going

This small neighborhood business is now my pharmacy of choice. Most of the retail space is filled by shelves of wine and liquor, but there is also a small section devoted to over-the-counter meds. Better still, there is a shelf for local Colorado products such as salsa, pickles, and other specialties. There are two small chairs for pharmacy customers who need to sit while they wait; there is even a play center with toy tools for young children. These furnishings are often, unfortunately, surrounded by unsightly boxes, cartons, and other detritus from deliveries of wine and beer. “A” for effort, there, but “C” for execution. Nevertheless, the pharmacy is efficient and well-run. The pharmacists are friendly and helpful. I have been very happy with the service I’ve received. Everything that you think you need from a large, franchised pharmacy can be found here.

Fabulous local pharmacy! Came in for a step test instead of going to urgent care. Test was faster and didn't have to make two stops. Staff actually had time to talk instead of just filling scripts and sending you on your way.
