Sign in to reviewThis PLACE is so cool! If you haven’t been to Casa Latina, what are you doing? They have grab and go bakery items that are authentic tasting and very, very fresh. The staff was super friendly and helpful on how the process worked. It looked like they also had tables and seating area to work at. Additionally, they offer espresso and coffee drinks from ThanksGiving Coffee Co! Super cool, and they also offer decaf options! I wish this was closer to campus, but this is my new go-to spot when I’m on the west side!
I love this place in Berkeley. Any time I am missing home and authentic flavorful food, this is my spot to come. I come often and it never disappoints. The quality of food is superb, service is always friendly and fast. I have come with my friend who is very picky with food and even he loves the food.
My honest review about the food. I ordered breakfast. The Chilaquiles dish through door dash. I was so excited to eat my food only to find that my avocado had black spots, the chilaquiles looked like it was cooked with diced tomatoes, maybe they forgot to fry it up with the red sauce which was on the side, small amount in a sauce container. The beans were meh. My eggs were runny. It was watered down and oily. Not much flavor. I’m pretty disappointed about my first time experience.
A great spot that does a lot more than "bakery"would suggest! Really great breakfast (I had the crispy egg and potato tacos, recommended), solid coffee, spacious and friendly. I'll be back for lunch and more!
🌮 🌯 🍖 This is my favorite Mexican spot in the Bay Area along with La Mission around the corner in university. My favorites include plantains, mole, fish tacos, and the pozole. You order at the counter and then there is plenty of seating available. They also have plenty of drinks, weekly specials like taco Tuesday, and Mexican baked goods.
