My favorite banh mi in the south bay! Dac Biet always has the perfect ratio of meat, pate and bo. It’s a real homey vibe to it, and the owners always are always so nice! Not to mention it’s under $8 for a sandwich which is a steal in this economy!! Also can’t beat a nuoc mia slushy in this weather. 👀

My first visit here was met with very kind services from the store staff. It was pretty obvious that I’m not Vietnam and/or I don’t speak the language and it was my first time. There were other customers trying to cut the line to in front of me, but the ladies behind the counter was very kind and patient in attending my orders. Thank you! Taro sesame balls are so good. The perfect, almost crispy exterior is met with delicate inside texture. Of course not too sweet but just the right amount of sweetness. Loved the amount of sesame on the outside, too. I also got pandan waffle. I liked it more than the one I got in Little Saigon before. I’d come here for that next time. The yellow steamed cake (not sure what this is called) was bit denser than I was expecting, but still, nice subtle sweetness - something I’d love to make at home.
